New products offer reliable motion sensing and impressive cost and energy savings.
PEACHTREE CITY, GA, April 9, 2012 - Cooper Wiring Devices, a leading electrical wiring device manufacturer for industrial, commercial and residential applications, is pleased to announce the introduction of the SAVANT LT sensor switches. These two new products compliment Cooper Wiring Devices' award-winning line of SAVANT Occupancy and Vacancy Sensors. Featuring Passive Infrared (PIR) sensor technology, these products sense movement of heat emitting bodies and accurately detect the presence of people in a room.
When lights are left on in empty rooms, both energy and money are wasted. To help reduce that waste, Cooper Wiring Devices offers innovative Occupancy Sensors. Occupancy sensors provide safety and convenience by automatically turning lights on when an occupant is detected, and save energy by automatically turning lights off in vacant rooms. Through utilization of an intuitive, user-adjustable dial, customers can preset lighting time delays from five to 30 minutes.
For additional savings, customers can take advantage of the Occupancy Sensor's user-selectable ambient light override adjustment. This useful feature prevents lights from turning on when there is a sufficient amount of natural light present. Not only does this save money, but it also provides a green, efficient solution to interior lighting.
Unlike an Occupancy Sensor, Cooper Wiring Devices' Vacancy Sensor provides Manual-on/Auto-off operation only (CA Title 24 Compliant). After turning lights on, vacancy sensors give users the option of manually turning off lights or utilizing a setting for automatic shut off should a room become vacant. This feature provides end-users with impressive cost and energy savings.
"At Cooper Wiring Devices, we are continually striving to develop quality products that will help our customers save both time and money," said Laura Ulz, President Cooper Wiring Devices. "Our Occupancy and Vacancy sensors put the power of lighting control in our consumers' hands. They are designed for efficiency and adhere to the latest energy codes while also greatly reducing energy usage."
Both products offer 450 square feet of coverage and tamper-resistant, color-matched lenses consistent with Cooper Wiring Devices SAVANT line of sensors in six different colors. Products are compatible with 120V / 60 Hz applications and loads of up to 600 watts or 1/6 HP and provide single-pole (single-location) and three-way (multi-location) wiring. They work with all common lighting load types, including Incandescent, Magnetic Low-Voltage, Electronic Low-Voltage, Fluorescent, Compact Fluorescent, LED and Halogen.
