VBrick Systems Delivers World's First Standards-Based Solution to Extend Video Conferences to Tens of Thousands of Users

SIP-Enabled Streaming Gateway Integrates Popular Video Conferencing Systems with VBrick's Streaming Solutions -- Integrated Systems Europe 2012 Booth #10Q116

AMSTERDAM & WALLINGFORD, Conn.--At the ISE show in Amsterdam this week, enterprise IP video leader VBrick Systems will unveil the Video Conference Streaming Gateway Module for its H.264 Distributed Media Engine (DME). The solution is truly ground-breaking as it is the first product to deliver a multi-vendor, standards-based solution to enable thousands of smartphones, tablets, PCs/MACs and TVs to display a video conference. Enterprises that have spent millions on video conferencing and telepresence equipment now have a cost effective way to leverage that investment and integrate with VBrick streaming solutions such as executive broadcasts, training events and marketing launches. Enterprises can now easily stream their video conferences to large audiences, record the content and offer it on-demand.

"More employees are mobile or work remotely and increasingly they rely on smartphones or tablets as their primary communication tool. VBrick has just made it far easier for those employees to stay connected - offering video conferences via VBrick streaming video."

The Video Conference Streaming Gateway Module has been successfully tested with a number of popular SIP-compliant video conferencing products from leading vendors including Polycom (Nasdaq: PLCM), Cisco Tandberg (NASDAQ:CSCO), LifeSize, a division of Logitech (Nasdaq: LOGI) (SIX: LOGN), Avaya and Radvision (NASDAQ: RVSN).

Until now video conferencing and video streaming technologies have been largely separate; stymied by differences in delivery technology. VBrick's Video Conference Streaming Gateway Module is bridging this gap. The Module becomes a participant in the video conference, ingesting the conference audio and video, transforming it and delivering it as a stream to the other elements of VBrick's infrastructure. The stream can then be centrally managed and delivered to thousands of users across multiple sites. While some video conferencing vendors have developed proprietary solutions to enable video streaming, these solutions are often costly and lack the scale or protocols required to deliver video to a variety of different endpoints across a multisite enterprise.

The H.264 Distributed Media Engine is the latest technology element of the VBrick Enterprise Video Architecture (VEVA), which spans video capture, content management, distribution and video display. Integration into the VEVA architecture dramatically simplifies deployment and use, delivering centralized management and scheduling functions as well as intuitive browser-based management interfaces. When used in conjunction with other VEVA products such as VBrick's VEMS Mystro™ content management solution, the DME is able to deliver video to any device, over any network.

"Customers have been asking for a better way to combine their video conferencing and video streaming investments. We are excited that VBrick is the first to offer this capability. We're making it easier and more cost effective for organizations to use all of their video assets to collaborate, educate and communicate with their employees, customers and partners," said John Shaw, chief operating officer, VBrick Systems. "More employees are mobile or work remotely and increasingly they rely on smartphones or tablets as their primary communication tool. VBrick has just made it far easier for those employees to stay connected - offering video conferences via VBrick streaming video."
