Enjoy Your 2.35 Home Cinema Without Mode Switches Or Lens Movements
** Stand #1P90, Integrated Systems Europe 2012, RAI, 31 January-2 February 2012**
SUNNYVALE, CA - November 15, 2011 - Kaleidescape, Inc., the market leader in movie servers, has announced CinemaScape, optimising the viewing experience in 2.35 projection home cinemas. Until now, switching between aspect ratios usually required a mode switch and movement of an anamorphic lens. CinemaScape eliminates this disruptive glitch by performing the necessary video processing.
"When customers want to explore their movie collection, it's now a smooth and seamless experience," said Ian Bolt, Director of Essex-based dealer, Custom Sight and Sound. "Using the Kaleidescape System, they can jump easily and instantly from re-living memorable scenes from their favourite films to enjoying performance footage at different concerts, and with CinemaScape the experience is even more spectacular."
The Kaleidescape System's award-winning on-screen user interface can now take advantage of the entire 2.35 screen. The result is a movie covers view with twelve more films, and a movie list view that shows the title, actors, director, genre, year of release, certificate rating and runtime all at once.
"2.35 screens are found in most of today's high-end home cinemas," said Michael Malcolm, Founder, Chairman, and CEO. "CinemaScape provides an unrivalled experience for these installations, with seamless transitions between content of different aspect ratios and a user interface that takes advantage of the entire screen."
CinemaScape will be included in a KEAOS software update during Q4 2011, which will be distributed automatically to Kaleidescape Systems via the Internet.
