Tributaries® Launches New Reference Series Cables

Orlando, FL - September 2011 - Tributaries proudly introduces the new reference series of interconnect cables, handmade at the company's headquarters in Orlando, Florida. The Series 8 cables achieve a level of performance far beyond previous models and will replace the Series 7 and Series 9 cables. Tributaries has made major changes in the construction of the cables and improved the grade of copper to achieve this level of performance.


All Series 8 models are made with Long-Crystal OFHC copper, which is drawn to reduce the amount of crystals in the copper conductor. The theory is that by lowering the crystal count, distortion is reduced and signal transfer is improved--resulting in an audio and video cable that delivers a high degree of fidelity and an extremely low noise floor.

Tributaries' offers new Series 8 Audio Cable for analog RCA audio, balanced audio, and subwoofer cables. The twisted-triplet configuration is constructed with three 20AWG insulated conductors made of Long-Crystal Oxygen-Free Copper (LC-OFC) conductors. Each conductor has a sophisticated dual-gauge construction designed to improve the balance between the bass and midrange/ high-frequency signals. By individually insulating each conductor, strand interaction is eliminated, improving sonic resolution. The signal is protected by heavy dual shielding in a PVC UL® CL2 rated jacket that is covered with an attractive black and gunmetal colored metallic-woven mesh. Termination will be done so that the cable is directional.

The Series 8 Video/Digital Cable 75-ohm cable designed for analog video and digital audio signals is manufactured with a solid 18AWG conductor that is 2.5% silver plated Long-Crystal OFHC copper to create a low resistance path for high frequency signals. The center conductor is separated from the shield by an insulator called a dielectric. The Series 8 Video Cable is designed with a dielectric designed with nitrogen-injected foam, sandwiched between two PE (polyethylene) skins; this design provides a consistent 75-ohm cable impedance, ensuring maximum signal delivery from the source to the load. The signal is protected by heavy-dual shielding in a PVC UL® CL2 rated jacket that is covered with an attractive black and gunmetal metallic woven mesh. Termination to RCA connectors will be done using Tributaries famous 360° surround soldering providing a superior ground connection.
