Lutron Introduces CERUS™ Fabrication Kit for Roman Shades

shade dealers can now provide their own Roman shade fabric on Lutron shade jobs

Coopersburg, PA (September 7, 2011) - Light control manufacturer Lutron Electronics has introduced a CERUS (Cord -Eliminating Roman Uptake System) fabrication kit that allows local workrooms to affix CERUS bands to their own Roman shade fabric panel. By combining the superior technology of the Lutron drive and the CERUS uptake system with their own shade fabric panel, dealers can offer clients a signature look and address specific client needs.

Lutron revolutionized the design of Roman shades with its CERUS technology. This innovative system replaces traditional Roman shade lift cords with translucent fiberglass bands that perform the same function as the lift cords -but with added benefits.

CERUS offers:

improved reliability - the fiberglass bands roll up seamlessly; no more tangled cords
superior performance - the bands move smoothly and evenly, while lift cords stack and slip as they travel
quieter operation - CERUS is nearly silent; the uneven motion from lift cords can cause snapping noises
advanced safety - CERUS bands are approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission and are safer than exposed inner cords, which may pose a strangulation hazard to small children

The CERUS Roman shade fabrication kit is offered to qualified Lutron shade providers and is a standard line item in the Shade Configuration Tool, versions 7.0 and higher.
