CEDIA New Zealand Expo which took place at Auckland's SKYCITY Convention Centre on 17 -18 May 2011, exceeded all expectations. Overwhelming feedback from the inaugural event last year indicated that the show was destined to grow, but by how much was the question. In anticipation the show moved from a hotel venue into a purpose built convention centre to allow the floor plan to double in size. Not only was the show growing but CEDIA were thrilled to report that more than a month prior the show we were a sell out.
CEDIA were delighted going into this year's event with an exhibitor line up of 32 companies. This was a significant 60% increase on last year and offered CEDIA NZ Expo visitors the opportunity to witness firsthand, the most diverse range of products and services available to the residential CI sector ever seen before. "Being the only dedicated industry trade event for New Zealand's electronic systems professionals we have a responsibility to deliver, and we did not fall short" says CEDIA Asia Pacific Exhibition Co -ordinator, Lauren Clegg.
Overall attendance of this year's expo increased by 28%, with a total of 473 industry professionals including 300 attendees and 173 exhibitors.
Exhibitors were impressed with the steady flow of traffic and the good quality of attendees that came through the doors. Visitors, both members and non -members benefited from the high standard and diverse range of products showcased which was complemented by world class training and education on offer. Many visitors have also identified expo as the industry networking event, imperative to their professional development.
