HAI Adds KZValve as Connectivity Partner

Home Automation, Inc. (HAI), leading manufacturer of integrated security and home automation products since 1985, announced that KZValve is their latest Connectivity Partner.

KZValve manufactures motorized valves and controls for water supplies. By connecting a water control valve to an HAI home automation system, the water supply at the home or business can be controlled remotely from a cell phone. When combined with HAI's existing sensors, the KZValve can react automatically, limiting water damage during emergencies. The valve features fast opening and closing functionality for the incoming water supply.

The valves can also work in conjunction with existing water sensors that lack the ability to actively turn off the water supply. The devices are significant when installing a home automation system in a vacation home. Especially in cold climates, homeowners are required to manually turn the water on and off when arriving and departing. This device provides control from a cell phone thousands of miles away, reducing the risk of pipes bursting during an extreme temperature drop. Homeowners gain 24 hour access to their water supply no matter where they are positioned.

"Integrating the water control valve with HAI's home control systems adds another level of emergency preparedness to your home", explains Scott Dudoussat, HAI Director of Technical Services. "Automatically or manually turning off water supplies can save homeowners and businesses serious headaches and losses."

"KZValve is pleased to be a connectivity partner with Home Automation, Inc on our Home Automation Water Control Valve", states Scott Morgan CFO & General Manager of KZValve". "Our high quality, durable actuated valve combined with HAI's controllers means more homeowners will be better protected from in home water damage."

Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth

The new Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth replaces conventional keys with digital keys accessed through the Yale Digital Keys app for Android and iOS mobile devices, and through an app for the new Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch. The Yale app allows homeowners to unlock doors, send keys to others, control when others have access, get a message when someone enters, and revoke a digital key at any time. Unlocking the deadbolt couldn't be simpler, whether using the Samsung Gear S2 or a smartphone. With the new Samsung Gear S2, touch the watch app to activate the digital key, then touch the lock screen to unlock the deadbolt. With a smartphone, Yale's "Twist and Go" technology allows the user to hold the phone vertically when approaching the door, then twist it 90 degrees to unlock the deadbolt. Homeowners can also unlock the deadbolt using its capacitive touchscreen and a four- to eight-digit code.
