So you have a 720p display and a 1080p Blu-ray player? The new Gefen ToolBox High Definition 1080p Scaler will automatically detect your display's maximum resolution and adjust the Blu-ray signal to that resolution without any further adjustments.
Las Vegas, NV Booth 20337 - So you have a 720p display and a 1080p Blu -ray player? The new Gefen ToolBox High Definition 1080p Scaler will automatically detect your display's maximum resolution and adjust the Blu -ray signal to that resolution without any further adjustments on your part. Video can also be manually scaled up and down in all resolutions up to 1080p full HD.
"This new ToolBox Scaler is also ideal when distributing a hi -def signal to multiple displays that do not
support the same maximum resolutions in an HDMI matrix system," said Hagai Gefen, president and CEO, Gefen. "Previously you'd have to settle on the lowest common resolution for each connected display, so if you had one 720p and three 1080p displays connected, all displays would receive a 720p signal. Now you can simply connect the 1080p Scaler to your lowest resolution display, and all other connected displays can receive 1080p full HD video. This Scaler would be installed at the 720p display so it can downscale the 1080p signal automatically for that display only."
All hi -def video sources and displays using the HDMI format are supported, with additional pass -through of digital audio formats (TOSlink/coax). Users select their audio input using a tiny switch on the unit or by using the included IR remote control.
The Gefen ToolBox High Definition 1080p Scaler is conveniently wall -mountable so it can be easily installed behind the display. It offers RS -232 control and is field upgradeable. When not in use, this new Scaler will automatically move into standby mode to curtail excessive power consumption.
