OWI, Inc. introduces a new amplified speaker for classrooms which earned the Energy Efficiency Certification mark for ENERGY STAR compliance.
OWI, Inc. Introduces ENERGY STAR® Rated Audio Amplifiers
OWI, Inc.®, a manufacturer of advanced audio equipment for AV integrators, commercial, industrial and residential markets, is pleased to introduce its AMP -1SGRN "Green" Amplified Speaker Amplifier with Priority Audio Override. OWI's innovative system recently earned UL Environment's Energy Efficiency Certification (EEC) Mark for ENERGY STAR® compliance.
The Energy Efficiency Certification (EEC) program is applicable to multiple product categories, including appliances, heating, air conditioning and refrigeration systems, high tech equipment and lighting products. The EEC Mark will appear on both the product and product packaging, and features a leaf encapsulating the familiar "UL" initials with the words "Energy Verified" in black text.
The AMP -1SGRN Speaker Amplifier with Priority Audio Override product is the perfect choice for schools, since it integrates audio along with an emergency paging solution through its Priority Override. Audio on the Priority input suspends the audio on the Normal input and switches the speaker amplifier to pass the Priority audio. This feature is becoming more important (in some states, a requirement) to handle any emergency from natural disasters (tornado, earthquake) to other situations such as lockdowns.
The system works on flexible power, either 25 -Watts or 50 -Watts, only applying the higher wattage when needed. The digital amplifier operates with 87 percent efficiency, which gives it the ENERGY STAR® rating. The system goes into "Sleep" mode every fifteen minutes and has a unique self -test feature that tests itself every hour, or when a manual button is pressed. Sending health status uses an LED signal that is Green for healthy, occasionally flashing Green while sleeping. A flashing bright Red signal when in need of attention assures the observer of a highly intelligent monitoring of health status.
The class D power amplifier has low radiated electromagnetic interference (EMI) due to a patented special feature of the power amplifier. The amplifier also protects itself from over -temperature, over -current, and over -voltage by shutting itself down under any of these conditions.
