Web Mountain's Remote UPB Controller Allows Installers and Home Owners to Control and Monitor UPB Systems from Anywhere

Web Mountain Technologieshas announced a new Remote UPB Controller (RUC) that combines scheduling, conditionallogic, email origination and UPB control with remoteaccess for the ultimate in UPB functionality in an extremely compact form factor.

Web Mountain Technologies, specializing in the integration of IP and UPB for the ultimate in home

control, has announced a new Remote UPB Controller (RUC) that combines scheduling, conditional
logic, email origination and UPB control with remote access for the ultimate in UPB functionality in an
extremely compact form factor. The new RUC will be available for purchase by October 15, 2010.
WMT's RUC calculates sunset and sunrise, automatically handles Daylight Saving Time and Leap Year
and can be used for a variety of purposes:
• Turn lights and appliances on and off according to pre -defined schedules
• Make the house look lived -in even when the occupants are away
• Monitor and control any UPB module (including HVAC) from anywhere in the world
• Setup and troubleshoot the UPB network from anywhere in the world
• Add countdown timer functionality to any UPB module
• Send email alerts whenever conditions warrant
• Get notified when garage doors are open and close them remotely
The standard setup and trouble -shooting software application called UPStart is and will always be the
state of the art for the UPB universe. Any other "remote access" device will have to replicate all of
UPStart's setup, management, trouble -shooting and diagnostic capabilities. Every time a new UPB
product hits the market, new features are added to an existing product or new diagnostic capabilities
(like the recent device -to -device communication test) are invented, any competing remote access
server will have to be updated accordingly. Not so with the RUC. By running the latest version of
UPStart on a local PC, an installer or homeowner will be able to apply new UPStart features to any UPB
network that has a RUC installed.
The RUC is extremely compact and has a dealer price target of less than $200. Although initially
configured to support UPB networks, it has been designed to be easily extensible to Insteon, Z -Wave
and Zigbee systems.

ELK Products -C1M1 Dual-Path Alarm Communicators with Remote Services

C1M1 offers a truly significant reduction in transmission time in comparison to other communicators that rely on dial capture or data bus decoding. This can result in quicker response time to emergency situations which could save lives and assets. By providing both IP and cellular pathways, C1M1 provides the reliability installers are looking for in an alarm communicator. C1M1 eliminates port forwarding and extra fees for remote access. Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events. ELK-C1M14GSM supports GSM (AT&T/T-Mobile) networks and ELK-C1M1CDMA supports CDMA (Verizon) networks.
