September 19th, 2010 - Milford, CT -SH Acoustics of Milford, CT, one of the leading acoustic designers of home theater and residential environments, is proud to have been involved in specialty projects over the last twelve months for four separate A/V manufacturers and organizations - Stewart Filmscreen, Crestron, TK Living and CAT MBX.
For Stewart Filmscreen of Torrance, CA, SH Acoustics was retained to be an integral part of the redevelopment of Stewart's new screen masking system to engineer the masking material and leading edge support to allow Stewart to provide their customers with the most acoustically -transparent masking system on the market. The new AcoustiMask system, which will be debuted at CEDIA 2010 will allow AV dealers and their clients to have complete freedom to locate left, center and right speakers behind Stewart's acoustically -transparent microperforated screens and mask down to any aspect ratio without fear of sonic distortion or muffling caused by the masking system's deployment. "The redevelopment of our masking system was very important to us," says Grant Stewart, President of Stewart Filmscreen. "We needed to involve someone with the best acoustic knowledge and experience to ensure that our new product would be acoustically superior. Steve Haas and SH Acoustics gave that to us."
For Crestron, Inc. of Rockleigh, NJ, SH Acoustics was sought out as the acoustical designer of the prestigious Theo Kalomirakis Theater at their brand new Crestron Experience Center in New Jersey. SHA will also be involved in ongoing calibration of the Theater's audio system to ensure that the quality level remains excellent.
TK -Living of Sausalito, CA wanted to develop the finest collection of acoustically -transparent fabrics that would meet both aesthetic and acoustic requirements for a home theater or media room space. SHA was brought in to evaluate and test the acoustic transparency of each fabric as it was being developed. Jeremiah Flaherty, SHA Senior Consultant, stated, "When we received the first round of fabrics from TK -Living to evaluate, some of their compositions and textures didn't seem promising. However, we were pleasantly surprised by many of them as we first started testing their transparency over loudspeakers and acoustic materlals."
CAT -MBX of Sacramento, CA is an elite consortium of top AV manufacturers, custom integrators and service providers throughout the world. SHA has been an invited member of CAT MBX since it's inception in 2001 and, after recently completing our 22nd high end MBX Theater, earned the distinction at their recent conference in Napa Valley in March 2010, of being the only acoustic engineering firm that CAT MBX as an organization recognizes for being able to being top quality results time and time again.
