Cary Audio Design Introduces the CAD 120S MKII

APEX, NC (June 8, 2010) -
Cary Audio Design is pleased to announce a new MKII version of the venerable CAD 120S. The new CAD 120S MKII builds upon the solid foundation of the CAD 120S and takes its performance to a new level of musicality. Among the modifications are a new and improved feedback network with a reduction of overall global feedback, and adjustments to the input gain stage.
The new circuit designs yield significant sonic improvements resulting in increased dynamics, wider soundstage, greater depth, finer resolution of detail and improved micro -dynamics. The new input gain level allows the new CAD 120S MKII to achieve greater volume while retaining its hallmark sound quality, as well as making it compatible with a wider variety of preamplifier brands.
The CAD 120S MKII is rated at 60 watts per channel in triode mode, and 120 watts per channel in ultralinear mode into an 8 ohm speaker load. Frequency response is from 17 Hz to 23 kHz with less than 1% total harmonic distortion. The output stage may be switched 'on the fly' from triode mode to ultralinear mode by using a front panel selector button. Backlit front panel meters indicate the circuit bias setting for each channel and visually indicate proper operation of the CAD 120S MKII amplifier.
The vacuum tubes in each channel consist of one (1) 6SN7 for the input stage, one (1) 6SN7 for the driver stage and four (4) KT 88 output power tubes. The circuit is a pure balanced design with separate RCA and XLR inputs. A soft start turn -on circuit is built in for long tube life and easy turn on in large systems. The power supply features 1,120uF of capacitance for ample reserves in demanding usages.
The CAD 120S MKII comes with a silver anodized aluminum front panel; black is optional. The chassis and transformer cover are painted using fine automotive finishes in a Jaguar Anthracite black with clear coat.

Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth

The new Yale Real Living™ Assure Lock™ with Bluetooth replaces conventional keys with digital keys accessed through the Yale Digital Keys app for Android and iOS mobile devices, and through an app for the new Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch. The Yale app allows homeowners to unlock doors, send keys to others, control when others have access, get a message when someone enters, and revoke a digital key at any time. Unlocking the deadbolt couldn't be simpler, whether using the Samsung Gear S2 or a smartphone. With the new Samsung Gear S2, touch the watch app to activate the digital key, then touch the lock screen to unlock the deadbolt. With a smartphone, Yale's "Twist and Go" technology allows the user to hold the phone vertically when approaching the door, then twist it 90 degrees to unlock the deadbolt. Homeowners can also unlock the deadbolt using its capacitive touchscreen and a four- to eight-digit code.
