Niles High Fidelity Wideband IR Sensors Named Finalist for 2010 CEA Mark of Excellence Award

New IR Sensors are compatible with emerging high data rate IR code formats; Proprietary Universal Noise Suppression eliminates IR interference, providing reliable control in any environment.

Niles Audio Corporation, The First Name in Custom Installation®, announced today that its new MS220 High Fidelity Wideband IR Sensor has been named a finalist for the 2010 CEA Mark of Excellence Award as the Installation Product of the Year. Niles’ High Fidelity Wideband IR Sensors, including the MS220, are the first in the industry to utilize high fidelity wideband amplification to ensure compatibility with virtually all current and emerging IR code formats, including the new Philips RC -MM code structure.

“Niles is proud to have its MS220 High Fidelity Wideband IR Sensors honored by the CEA and the Mark of Excellence Awards program,” said Mike “Sparky” Detmer, vice president of sales and marketing for Niles. “Having our revolutionary IR sensors considered for an Installation Product of the Year award reinforces Niles’ commitment to providing installers with the industry’s leading products in our three key market segments: integration solutions, home systems and loudspeakers,” added Detmer.

The MS220’s high fidelity wideband amplification optimally amplifies and preserves IR signal integrity and eliminates poor IR performance by accurately passing the low duty -cycle, high data rate IR signals found in many new source components, including AT&T U -verse systems, HD cable boxes and satellite receivers. This new amplification is paired with Niles’ patent -pending Universal Noise Suppression technology, which implements more than 10 different methodologies to ensure effective and reliable operation in a multitude of “noisy” environments. Niles offers professional systems integrators a universally capable IR sensor solution for any application.

Niles High Fidelity Wideband IR Sensors are available in the following models to accommodate any application:

In addition, the new High Fidelity Wideband IR Sensors are now packaged in Niles Remote Control Anywhere!® Kits. These kits include everything needed to create a complete IR extender system, all in one box. Three different models, the RCA -HT2, RCA -SM2, and RCA -TT2, are each designed to fit a specific application.

The CEA Mark of Excellence Awards, presented by CEA’s Tech Home Division, recognize the leaders in innovation and trend -setting within the custom electronics industry. Judged by a panel of industry experts, winners of the 2010 Mark of Excellence Awards will be recognized at a special awards ceremony Friday, March 26 at Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2010 in Orlando, Fla.
