VidaBox, LLC is shipping the redesigned FireServer™, supporting 1-Step Drop-n-Rip™ archiving for Blu-rays, an audiophile-friendly DualRip™ feature, multiroom audio integration w. popular music players, & expandable storage for up to 1230 DVDs/320 BDs

Amsterdam, NL - ISE 2010 - February 2nd - Booth 1I27 - VidaBox, LLC is shipping their newly redesigned FireServer™, which now supports 1 -Step Drop -n -Rip™ archiving for Blu -rays, an audiophile -friendly DualRip™ feature, multiroom audio integration with Sonos®, Logitech® SqueezeBox™, and other popular music systems via uPNP, and field -expandable storage for up to 1230 DVDs and 320 Blu -rays.

"Dealers finally have an entry -level, dedicated VidaBox server solution that has all the features they're looking for," explains Steven Cheung, President of VidaBox, LLC. "The original FireServer™ was based on standard Windows Home Server technologies, which we found had some serious performance limitations for Blu -ray streaming. Since then, we have changed the design to support seamless multi -zone Blu -ray streaming. At the same time, we've also added in new features such as optional multiroom audio support for systems like Sonos®, so that integrators can provide a simple, seamless multiroom audio solution with our 1 -Step DualRip™ for music CDs."

Unlike a standard CD archiving system that only does a single rip in one format only, all VidaBox media servers can now DualRip™ music CDs. An installer can configure a VidaBox server to make the first archival in a high -quality, lossless audio format like WAV or WMV. These high fidelity files are then stored in a unique folder accessible only by audio zones and setups where quality is of paramount importance. Then, the server makes a second archival of the same music CD into a widely -compatible, lower -fidelity format like MP3, which is then accessible by any music system or portable players like iPods®.

"Our DualRip™ feature solves a lot of audiophiles' problems when archiving CDs for their music collections," continues Cheung. "Formats like FLAC & WMV lossless are great, but are not directly compatible with common, everyday devices like iPods®. WAV files may be universal, but the metadata and tagging system for them are far from perfect. Finally, MP3s are universally compatible, but they are not lossless. By using VidaBox server's DualRip™ technology, users can enjoy the best of both worlds with 2 versions of their libraries, and never have to worry about dealing with complicated procedures or conversion methods to catalog their music collections."

The FireServer™ is shipping and available now for all VidaBox dealers. DualRip™ technology is also available on new systems and as a free upgrade for all existing server systems.
