Continua Health Alliance Will Demonstrate Products Designed to Empower People and Organizations to Better Manage Health and Wellness Anytime, Anywhere
Continua Health Alliance and member companies A&D Medical, IBM, Nonin Medical, PDT, Renesas Technology, Tunstall Healthcare and ZyXEL will demonstrate personal connected health solutions at the 2010 Consumer Electronics Show on Jan. 7 -10, 2010. Join us in Booth #2817 at the new CES Digital Health Summit in the North Hall to see consumer digital health solutions in action.

The demonstrations in the CES Digital Health Summit will include Continua Certified™ connected health solutions for managing chronic medical conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, congestive heart failure and asthma/chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Among these products will be a Bluetooth blood pressure cuff and weight scale from A&D, a Bluetooth pulse oximeter from Nonin Medical and a Cypak USB converter cable designed to connect legacy devices to the Continua ecosystem. These devices will be combined with a HealthLink PC manager from Lamprey Networks, Inc. (LNI) that turns a PC into a home heath gateway, enabling Continua devices to deliver data to Personal Health Records (PHRs).

A&D Medical: A&D Medical's industry leading blood pressure and weight monitoring solutions include Continua -certified, Bluetooth -enabled blood pressure monitors and precision health scales as well as Continua -certified USB solutions via Cypak's new USB converter cable.
IBM: IBM will demonstrate interoperability of telehealth solutions with EMRs and PHRs and Continua Certified™ devices that capture patient data, monitor patient conditions and enable clinician views and analysis using IBM technologies such as Lotus®, WebSphere®, Rational® and Cognos®.
Nonin Medical: Bringing trusted accuracy to remote vital sign monitoring, Nonin Medical will showcase the world's first Continua Certified™ wireless fingertip pulse oximeter, the Onyx II, Model 9560 and its GO2™ line of personal consumer fingertip pulse oximeters.
Product Development Technologies: PDT provides the digital health industry with product development resources specializing in innovative research, design, engineering and manufacturing support to align client devices to market needs.
Renesas Technology: The Direct -Drive LCD Demo demonstrates a low -cost Flash H8SX MCU from Renesas, showing the H8SX family's capability of driving TFT -LCD panels without requiring an external LCD controller in medical applications.
Tunstall Healthcare: Tunstall Healthcare will demonstrate the Tunstall Telehealth Platform able to capture vital sign data from a variety of wireless peripherals. Also included in the exhibit will be a view to Tunstall Connect - Clinical Monitoring Application.
ZyXEL: Networking technology leader ZyXEL will debut its Smart Home Gateway (SHG) at CES. The SHG, a CES Innovations Honoree, is the industry's first battery -powered 4G/3G / 802.11n wireless platform for health monitoring and assisted living solutions.
In addition to empowering individuals to maintain greater responsibility for their health, these easy -to -configure personal connected health devices provide consistent monitoring of individuals' health and care status, enabling more informed treatment decisions by healthcare professionals and care teams.
The CES Digital Health Summit Conference on Saturday, January 9, will kick off with a keynote at 8 a.m. entitled "The New Age of Digital Health" presented by Bruce Henderson, Continua Treasurer and a senior executive with PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Continua will host a panel discussion at 9:45 a.m. entitled "The Future of e -Health is Here: True Stories of Cooperation, Dedication and Occasional Misadventures." Led by Continua Executive Director Charles Parker, the panel will include representatives from Ascension Health, Qualcomm, Roche Diagnostics and Sharp.
