Stewart Filmscreen Introduces New Products At CEDIA 09

Stewart Filmscreen introduces a line of new products including window treatment product that controls incoming noise & sunlight, new led accent lighting systems for the home, and director's choice 2.0 electric screen system.

Torrance, CA and Atlanta, GA (CEDIA) - September 09, 2009 Stewart Filmscreen Corporation®, the industry leader in precision projection screen technologies for the residential and commercial markets, today announced the AcoustiShade™ (patents pending)., their first window treatment product designed to control noise and black out sunlight in residential applications, providing a convenient and beautiful solution for dealers and designers.

Stewart's exclusive AcoustiShade is the first window treatment that effectively controls both incoming light and distracting noise coming through windows. Complimenting Stewart's existing line of roller screens, the AcoustiShade has been designed for any residential or commercial application where noise and sunlight control is necessary. Who better than Stewart in knowing the importance of achieving the perfect display experience? The AcoustiShade is just another way that Stewart can help achieve the best possible image in any environment, under any circumstance.

Window openings are typically a building's weakest link for noise and light infiltration. Traditional shade systems offer no remedy for noise contamination. For this reason, Stewart's acoustical window treatments are needed to reduce outside -to -inside noise contamination while also controlling even the slightest amount of outside light that can detract from the viewing experience.

The AcoustiShade is comprised of three main elements: a sound attenuating blackout layer that keeps light and exterior noise from entering the display area, a decorative face fabric that reduces noise resonance, and an air space with proven acoustical benefit. And, unlike standard black -out -only shades typically available, Stewart's offers a unique single motor rolling baton system (Stewart Filmscreen Patent Pending) that elegantly deploys both the sound attenuating black -out layer and the decorative fabric. The single motor design also lowers the height of the case profile and reduces manufacturing costs.

Stewart Filmscreen's Patent Pending Magnetic Blackout & Attenuation Assist (MBAA) ensures a tight seal on two sides between the shade and side chambers that not only holds the shade fabric more firmly, completely seals outside light and helps further reduce exterior noise, but also stops both cold and hot air drafts from the outside, insulating them from the interior space.

The AcoustiShade is engineered to be simple to install and easy to operate with Stewart Filmscreen's Quick Stall mounting option that allows for the imperfections found in any finished window system. It is delivered fully pre -assembled allowing the installer to simply remove the shade system from its shipping container, place it into the window with out further adjustments, and make the necessary electrical connections. Once securely mounted and properly wired, the shade is immediately and fully operable.

The AcoustiShade provides a stylish, cost effective solution to soundproofing some of the most difficult parts of your room. The AcoustiShade is available now in a variety of colors and virtually any custom size. Price is variable and dependent size and type of material used.

The AcoustiShade can be seen in Booth #837 at the Georgia World Congress Center during the CEDIA Expo from September 10 -13 in Atlanta, GA. Stewart Filmscreen invites CEDIA dealers and members of the press to learn more about the AcoustiShade and many other products they will be exhibiting at the show.

Torrance, CA and Atlanta, GA (CEDIA) - September 09, 2009 Stewart Filmscreen Corporation®, the industry leader in precision projection screen technologies for the residential and commercial markets, introduces Director's Choice 2.0 an innovative video projection solution that allows for maximum picture size, regardless of the source's aspect ratio without electronic scaling artifacts.

In partnership with PMI, LTD., a consulting firm specializing in the design and engineering of world -class home cinemas and professional studios, Stewart Filmscreen has designed the Director's Choice 2.0 solution. It is the ultimate marriage of the world's best screen materials and the most precise masking system available. This reference quality, electrically masked screen system, is purpose -built to meet the requirements of Anthony Grimani's PMI 2.0 video projection solution.

PMI's innovative 2.0 video projection solution allows for maximum picture size, regardless of the source's aspect ratio without electronic scaling artifacts. PMI 2.0 is the latest and most dramatic home cinema video display system. It puts the "Wow Factor" back into home cinema. In the evolution from 1.33:1, 1.78:1, and "Constant -Height" 2.35:1, it's the next natural step. The picture area between 2.35 and 1.78 are almost identical, favoring both equally. PMI engineers the projector and screen system to match the viewing angle to the source resolution and maximize picture size across the entire range of current and future formats. Not only can this system create any aspect ratio, but it can present multiple sizes of the same aspect ratio for different source resolutions and even different audience configurations.

With the Director's Choice 2.0 built from a 2.0:1 screen area, the solution reduces the amount of screen masking between picture formats and provides a method for displaying multiple aspect ratios while maintaining proper viewing distances based upon picture resolution. With this incredibly flexible approach, the Director's Choice 2.0 may represent the last screen system a homeowner will ever require by providing total flexibility and future proofing of the video screen and masking system. Never again must you cope with unsightly black bars, image cropping or improper picture sizing for lower resolution source material.

To guarantee a properly engineered Director's Choice 2.0 solution, Stewart recommends that integrators and dealers consult with PMI's design staff. The four key components in the system include: projector with controllable zoom; Stewart's precision masking screen solution; system engineering; automation control.

To ensure consistent masking, Stewart Filmscreen's revolutionary Binary Reciprocal Intelligent Control nicknamed "The BRIC" allows precision settings of all standard and custom aspect ratios to be set with ease, eliminating the need for multiple controllers. Compatible with most infrared remotes, RS -232, and RS -422 control systems, this unique product reduces programming time to a matter of minutes, and is unique, providing the unmatched accuracy of optical encoders for position recall, in a digital closed loop system, as opposed to time based control systems.

The Director's Choice 2.0 can be seen in Booth #837 at the Georgia World Congress Center during the CEDIA Expo from September 10 -13 in Atlanta, GA. Stewart Filmscreen invites CEDIA dealers and members of the press to learn more about the Director's Choice 2.0 and many other products they will be exhibiting at the show.

Torrance, CA and Atlanta, GA (CEDIA) - September 09, 2009 Stewart Filmscreen Corporation®, the industry leader in precision projection screen technologies for the residential and commercial markets, today announced the newly designed Slimline CineCurve that has a narrower housing or frame bezel.

The CineCurve has been one of the most exciting screens to hit market in years and is one of Stewart Filmscreen's top sellers. However, due to its housing size, there were instances where one had to sacrifice image size or could not fit the unit into the room. Stewart Filmscreen has addressed this concern with the Slimline CineCurve.

The Slimline CineCurve is now applicable for smaller home theater rooms due to its newly re -designed housing that is 2" narrower on each side. Previously when measuring the installation of a CineCurve one would have to take in to account 18" for the housing plus the image width. The new Slimline CineCurve unit reduces the unit width to 12"+ image width. The size reduction of the housing unit means that customers can have an even larger image area in the space and that rooms that may not have been able to accommodate current model are now able to thanks to its new Slimline CineCurve design.

Engineered for use with a specially designed anamorphic lens that fits most of today's top HD projectors, CineCurve models feature a native 2.40:1 image area. This allows full enjoyment and flexibility for viewing movies in their original theatrical aspect ratio since most Hollywood blockbusters are produced in formats, such as Cinemascope, where the movie is 2.35 times wider than it is high. When watching this aspect ratio on a 16:9 screen, 33% of the pixels are used to create annoying black bars, therefore reducing your image resolution.

The CineCurve maintains a constant vertical height with two electronically controlled masking panels that glide in from the left and right, creating the perfect image area for any aspect ratio. The curvature of the screen heightens the viewer's sense of immersion, while reducing screen surface exposure to sidewall reflections of ambient light.

The new Slimline CineCurve can be seen in Booth #837 at the Georgia World Congress Center during the CEDIA Expo from September 10 -13 in Atlanta, GA. Stewart Filmscreen invites CEDIA dealers and members of the press to learn more about the Slimeline CineCurve and many other products they will be exhibiting at the show.
