With the End of Analog TV, Company Says Be Prepared, Add a Digital Set to Emergency Kit

La Verne, CA - June 8, 2009 - Eviant™, Inc., a designer and marketer of stylish portable and home entertainment products, reminds residents of areas subject to hurricanes - or any natural disaster - to add a portable digital television to their emergency kits. With the conversion from analog television signal to digital beginning on June 12, portable analog sets in these kits will no longer work.

"Televisions are one of those things we all take for granted," stated Jerry Galya, Eviant Vice President of Sales and Marketing. "Then, when it's needed most and not working, we are at a loss. With the advent of this year's hurricane season, Eviant wants to remind folks who have an analog portable television they plan on using during an emergency to replace it with a digital set capable of receiving free, over -the -air digital channels."

The Eviant executive also said people living in other areas that are prone to natural disasters, such as floods, tornadoes, and earthquakes, should switch out the analog sets in their emergency kits to digital as well. Or to put a digital set in, if they have not had a TV in their kit previously.

Eviant offers an ultra -thin, digital portable 7" widescreen LCD television (model T7). The unit is completely digital and ATSC compliant, ensuring superior picture reception and quality. It is among the first sets of its size to offer true built -in digital portability. The T7 receives free, digital channels without the need for any additional component or subscription service.

This new Eviant model comes with a built -in rechargeable Lithium -Ion battery, assuring users during emergencies access to information even if their electricity goes out. The included car adapter provides another source of power. A protective carrying pouch is also included. The unit measures 7.3"x 1.1"x 5.7" (wxdxh) and weights approximately 1.39 pounds.

On June 12, the television transmission signal changes from analog to digital. Sets that receive analog signals, the transmission devise for over 55 years, will cease to operate at that time. And hurricane season began on June 1st. This will force consumers to either purchase a digital set or affix a digital TV tuner to their analog set. In many cases, such converter boxes are larger than the TV itself, defeating their 'portable', take -anywhere nature.

The Eviant T7 7" portable digital television is available in department stores, drugstores and at a variety of other nationwide retailers. It has a MSRP of $169.99.
