Cooper Wiring Devices Announces Membership in Universal Remote Control's (URC) Complete Control Partner Program
Deal ensures compatibility of Aspire RF™ devices with manufacturer's control and custom automation products
PEACHTREE CITY, GA., April 1, 2009 - Cooper Wiring Devices, a division of Cooper Industries, announces it has been certified as a Complete Control Partner with Universal Remote Control (URC), a world leader in the custom design, engineering, manufacturing and distribution of high quality controls and home automation products. The Complete Control Partner Program certifies that URC custom automation solutions and Aspire RF wireless lighting control devices can be seamlessly integrated and provide full -functionality using the Aspire RF Serial Interface Programming Module (#RF232).
The RF232 Serial Interface Programming Module provides a RS232 connection to URC's MSC -400 system controller. Through the module, URC dealers can easily control individual dimmers, switches, receptacles and lamp modules. Moreover, they have the ability to communicate and control scenes and areas throughout the home. URC's dealers will have the advantage of having pre -written codes in their next controller editor download for ease of programming. The serial protocol (ASCII) is also free to the integrator community, and can be found at www.cooperwiringdevices.com/AspireRF, in the "Support" section.
The Aspire RF wireless control system, powered by Z -Wave® technology, features a full line of switches, receptacles, dimmers, scene control keypads, remote controls, accessories and screwless wall plates. All products are interoperable and are fully compatible with a wide range of products from other Z -Wave manufacturers. The entire system is controlled with the press of a single button on a remote control, and can be joined with other devices to create "events" or "scenes" that offer ambience, security, convenience and energy savings.
"Our partnership with a category leader like URC demonstrates our commitment to our value chain partners within the custom installation and integration channel," said Jason Sherrill, Product Manager at Cooper Wiring Devices. "Together in these challenging economic times, we can create a powerful competitive advantage for their dealers by providing them the means to offer a cost -effective complete home lighting control solution for the retrofit market."
"We are excited to be working with Cooper Wiring Devices," said Mitchell Klein, director of business development at URC. "Dealers now have a wide range of control options to enhance the lighting experience that Cooper products deliver. Integrating the Aspire RF lighting products into a URC solution is a huge win for dealers and their customers."
