Crestron Launches International DigitalMedia Training

More Than 1300 Registered Trainees in 13 Cities in 13 Days

ROCKLEIGH, NJ, February 19, 2009 - Crestron launched its North American DigitalMedia training tour yesterday in Atlanta, Chicago and at the corporate headquarters in Rockleigh, NJ. Three instructors will travel across the continent, visiting 13 cities on 13 dates over the next six weeks. More than 1300 industry dealers, programmers and consultants are already registered to learn how to design, install and commission Crestron DigitalMedia™ (DM) systems.

Crestron began designing products with HDMI technology more than five years ago, and has shipped thousands of HDMI products over the last three years. More than just another HDMI switcher or extender, DM is a complete, integrated solution that controls and distributes analog audio and video, uncompressed HD digital signals, HDMI, DVI, DisplayPort, HD -SDI, Ethernet and USB keyboard/mouse control long distance over twisted pair or multimode fiber.

There's no question that the digital age is here today. Analog television is going off the air; practically every device that plugs into a display has an HDMI port; the latest MacBooks only provide DisplayPort outputs; laptops now include built -in Blu -ray players, and the latest video conferencing systems feature HDMI/DVI outputs exclusively. Traditional AV systems are not designed to distribute uncompressed HD digital signals or manage data such as HDCP content protection, EDID resolution management and CEC device control. Crestron is providing the tools, technology and education to meet the challenges our industry faces today.

Each of the 60 half -day sessions will include educational presentations and interactive demonstrations. The highly focused and practical curriculum is divided into four main topics: What Problems Does DM Solve; How To Design a DM System; How To Install a DM System; and How To Commission a DM System. Students are given valuable resources to take home as supplements to the classroom instruction, such as a detailed Design Guide, technical
specification sheets and application diagrams. Online videos can also be viewed and downloaded from the Crestron website for quick review, or to share with colleagues who could not attend in person.

Registration was announced on January 27th, and many training sessions filled up in the first few hours. Some dates are still open for this limited tour; Crestron dealers and partners can register online for these free classes on a first come, first served basis.

Deliver the solutions that clients expect today: glitch -free HDMI and Blu -ray (1080p) distributed to every room. Review the schedule and register today before this opportunity passes. Go to www.crestron.com/digitalmedia. For high -resolution photos go to www.crestron.com/pressroom.
