JAY SCHADLER JOINS MEDIA DÉCOR LIMITED EDITION ARTISTS

"Jay has the eyes of a journalist and the heart of a storyteller" - Oprah Winfrey

Ft Lauderdale, Florida - January 12, 2009 - Media Décor announced today that Jay Schadler, Journalist, Photographer and Graphic Artist has signed with Media Décor as a Limited Edition Artist.

Jay Schadler is an Emmy Award winning journalist with ABC News. He has been a correspondent and anchor for the network for 25 years, reporting for all major platforms including PrimeTime, 20/20, Good Morning America and Nightline.

Known nationally for his groundbreaking ABC News Specials "Looking for America." With hand -held cameras, Jay hitchhiked more than 13,000 miles in 3 years, interviewing everyday Americans along the way. The specials are considered by many as one of broadcasting's first forays into "Reality TV."

In the winter of 2000, Jay's hitchhiking road stories aired as a weekly television series called "TaleLights" for the Bravo Art and Film Network.

His work for National Geographic Channel and the Discovery Channel has taken him all over the world. In India he tracked tigers and pursued poachers on the Old Silk Caravan route for investigation on illegal wildlife trade. He reported from Africa on the Ebola outbreak in Gabon and on environmental destruction of Aral Sea in Uzbekistan.

Travels through Russia lead to various stories on politics, culture and environment and in Australia he reported on habitat destruction and the Koala Bear. In Belize he mountain -biked the rainforest to report on Mayan archeological discoveries and anchored a live broadcast of the tomb opening at the Great Pyramids in Egypt.

He was the correspondent on PrimeTime's episodes on the life and death of Timothy Treadwell "The Bear Whisperer" in Alaska and the cave diving tragedy at Bushman's Hole in the Kalahari Desert.

With Seven Emmy Nominations Jay's awards include Emmy Winner: "Best Investigative Journalism"; Network News Magazine: "Winner of the National Environmental Media Award"; United Press International: "Outstanding Individual Achievement"; Dennis Kauff Memorial Award "Broadcast Reporter of the Year" and Associated Press "Reporter of the Year".

Jay's travels and adventures have inspired his artwork and fueled his passion for painting and photography. Influenced by the simplicity of Edward Hopper and the imagination of Salvatore Dali, Jay's digital photography captures a place between reality and fantasy, not unlike the moment of waking from a dream.

Each piece starts as a digital photograph upon which he adds pastels and sometimes digital enhancements. But technology aside, he notes, the bottom line is that the image has integrity to it, conveys feeling, and is so authentic that it invites people to literally come up and touch the art. "My feeling about all of that is the only thing that matters is the image," says Schadler. "Does it speak to you, does it affect you, do you like it?"

Media Décor is honored to be able to offer their clients a chance to have Jay's stunning images portrayed on their motorized art series.
