FOCUS ENHANCEMENTS NEW SUMMIT INTEGRATED CIRCUIT ACHIEVES HIGH RESOLUTION WIRELESS SURROUND SOUND
NEW YORK, NY, December 8, 2009 - - A new paradigm in home surround sound has been introduced by Focus Enhancements (FCSEQ.PK) by way of its groundbreaking Summit integrated circuit (IC), also known as "FS848".
Summit can wirelessly transmit uncompressed 24 -bit, DVD -quality audio to each speaker in the system enabled by an FS848 IC slave module and a compact Class D amplifier.
"The market has been waiting for a solution like this for a long time, and the wait is finally over," said Tony Parker, V.P. Marketing - Semiconductor division, Focus Enhancements. "Summit is the first wireless audio system to feature high end performance that is virtually indistinguishable from traditional wired speakers, is practical enough to be built into almost any home A/V device and simple enough for any end user to quickly set up and enjoy. Focus Enhancements set out to revolutionize the home audio experience, and we're very proud of our achievement."
Summit technology includes a sophisticated ultrasonic mapping algorithm that enables optional SpeakerFinderTM and MyZoneTM features to set a new standard for simplicity of installation. Set -up is designed to be entirely intuitive - - there are no confusing audio balancing, level setting or cumbersome on -screen displays to navigate. Upon powering up the system, the unit detects your speaker's location and configuration, and automatically optimizes the listening environment.
A Remarkable New Method
The Summit multi -channel audio distribution integrated circuit has been designed from the ground up for home theater audio systems. Summit utilizes the newly opened 5GHz U -NII band spectrum to eliminate interference with common household wireless devices such as Wi -Fi networks, cordless phones, bluetooth devices and microwaves in the crowded 2.4GHz and 5.8GHz spaces.
As a result of these innovations, Summit's signal reliability is unsurpassed, and free of the pops, ticks and interruptions that have marked previous attempts at wireless home theater audio. In addition, patent -pending technology allows system latency to be fixed, banishing lip -sync issues and allowing for the support of systems in the demanding gaming market.
