Colorado vNet Provides Worldwide Weather Information on their Vibe™ Touchscreen

Users view weather information using the same Vibe™ Touchscreen that controls the company's award-winning home automation and distributed audio systems.

Loveland, CO - December 17, 2008 - Colorado vNet has integrated worldwide weather information into their award -winning home automation and distributed audio systems. With the Colorado vNet Weather Application, homeowners quickly view current weather conditions and hourly or 5 -day forecasts on the same award -winning Vibe™ Color Touchscreen used for controlling whole -house audio, lighting, climate, CCTV and security systems. Users choose from a list of previously viewed cities and easily add new locations by entering a zip code or browsing by country/state/city. In addition, homeowners have the flexibility to make any location the default or rename locations -for example, "Aspen Ski Lodge." A Weather Application Module and an Internet connection are the only requirements for adding weather to an existing Vibe system.

With several modules to choose from, integrators have the scalability needed for a variety of installations. The WX1 -40 Application Module allows up to 40 touchscreens to display weather information. For smaller installations, four additional Weather Application Modules (WX1 -5, WX1 -10, WX1 -20 and WX1 -30) are available.

The wizard -based vNet Producer™ software used to configure Vibe Audio, Climate, CCTV and Security Applications is also used for the Weather Application. All modules are pre -integrated to work with the HAMweather service, so integrators simply indicate which Touchscreens will have access to weather information.

"Our homeowners can now access weather information from any room of their home. They don't have to go to the laptop in the den -they can pull it up instantly from their bedroom Touchscreen," commented Scott Stephenson, Colorado vNet Product Manager.

ELK Products -C1M1 Dual-Path Alarm Communicators with Remote Services

C1M1 offers a truly significant reduction in transmission time in comparison to other communicators that rely on dial capture or data bus decoding. This can result in quicker response time to emergency situations which could save lives and assets. By providing both IP and cellular pathways, C1M1 provides the reliability installers are looking for in an alarm communicator. C1M1 eliminates port forwarding and extra fees for remote access. Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events. ELK-C1M14GSM supports GSM (AT&T/T-Mobile) networks and ELK-C1M1CDMA supports CDMA (Verizon) networks.
