Showcase of AV technology applications for the Building Development and Home Entertainment sector AV industry leaders at InfoComm Asia 2008, largest dedicated trade show in Asia for pro AV and systems integration

(Hong Kong, 27 August 2008) Real estate developers, building consultants, architects, designers, installers and facility managers will be able to see, assess and learn about a broad spectrum of audiovisual solutions to enhance their building projects, this November 19 -21 in Hong Kong. InfoComm Asia 2008, the pan Asian trade show for pro AV technology and systems integration will debut with more than 250 exhibiting companies from 21 countries. This includes companies exhibiting under three national groups - Singapore, Taiwan and the USA.

Audiovisual systems are increasingly incorporated into building designs, in response to the growing demand for high -tech features in homes and workplaces. The convergence of video, voice and data communication technologies opens up exciting possibilities. From security, lighting and temperature control, to sound and video communication, residential and commercial property developers have a multitude of AV options at their disposal to provide style, efficiency and safety in their buildings, and in the process, increase their asset value. The trend is to build entire internal and external environments where people can thrive and soar.

At InfoComm Asia 2008, AV industry leaders will present their latest solutions for various market sectors, including building design and facility management. Among the building applications featured are LED display systems for digital signage and security monitoring, which are available from Lighthouse Technologies, C -Nario and AMX, to name a few. AMX, with Crestron and Lutron, also offer home automation and entertainment systems such as touchpanel user -interface and lighting controls. Matrix switchers for high resolution computer -video and stereo audio routing, ideal for command and control centers as well as residential applications, are available from Extron and Kramer. To seamlessly integrate all of the technologies within the property, whether it is audio -visual, CCTV, door entry, security or air -conditioning/heating, companies like AMX, Creator Corporation and Crestron can offer their expertise.

There will be four special themed pavilions, each dedicated to a rising technology trend in Asia. One of these is the Intelligent Home Solutions (iHS) Pavilion. Led by CEDIA (Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association), the iHS pavilion showcases cutting edge solutions to homebuilders keen to expand the functionality and eventual value of their property. Leading international brands represented at this pavilion include Lutron, Cinetron, Milestone AV, Anthony Gallo Acoustics, Liberty Wire, RTI, Kordz, DVI, TC Plus and Elite Screens.

Another pavilion that would interest the building sector is the Digital Signage Pavilion. This provides a focused platform for buyers and decision makers from a wide spectrum of industries - including real estate developers and architects - to learn how they can tap the power of digital signage to inform, promote and captivate their customers. Major solution providers like Scala, C -Nario, Broadsign, Kortex, Dynascan, Cayin Technology, DTS, Keywest, Magenta, Jobo, Oripix, Medialon, IEI Technology, Ateis and 1 -2 -1 View form part of the Digital Signage Pavilion. The third pavilion focuses on HD Conferencing and Telepresence, and the fourth, Entertainment Technology for establishments, public spaces, theme parks and integrated resorts.

The building design and facility management sector is one of several key markets for the AV vendors gathered at InfoComm Asia 2008. Other exhibiting companies catering to this market include Ammamsic, Audio -Visual Station, BatrixuanBo JiYe Electronic, Beijing Huakong Software Technology, Dehao Electronics, DT Research, Gefen, LG Electronics, Projectiondesign, Sharp -Roxy, Shenzhen Ally, and Zhaoke Electronics. Altogether, some 250 will collectively put up a comprehensive display of the AV technologies tailored for the diverse Asian markets.

In addition to the trade exhibition, there will also be a Summit program comprising educational seminars, manufacturers' presentations and industry -focused conferences, viz. Transportation, Building, Facility Management and Education. A key component of the industry conferences is the technical visit program to facilities which have installed or employed AV systems extensively, to give participants a better appreciation of AV applications in the various industries.

One of these visits takes delegates to the famed International Finance Center 2, currently the tallest building in Hong Kong, equipped with advanced telecommunications, raised floors for flexible cabling management, and double -deck elevators - which only a handful of buildings in the world can boast of. Delegates will visit the command and control center to get a behind -the -scenes look at how AV technologies help to make the building a safe, comfortable and conducive workplace for its 5,000 -odd occupants.

Visits will also be made to the command and control centers of the Hong Kong International Airport and the Hong Kong MTR Corporation, two very successful facilities known for its efficient operations and management.

Building and Facility Management sector attendees will also find a number of topics covered in the Summit Conference and Seminar programs interesting. Representatives from the Asian Institute of Intelligent Buildings will present a paper on Scientific Feng Shui, a topic that's taken seriously in Asia, and share their experiences in developing the Intelligent Building Index and Audit System, at the Building Industry Conference. At the Education Seminars, industry experts will talk about AV Design Considerations for Board Rooms, and the Latest Digital Signal Formats and Their Impact on the AV Industry.
