Centronics Launches the HCCX HDMI Powered Repeater

Now Available, the EHD-Branded HCCX by Centronics can Transmit a 1080p Signal up to 30 Meters and Works with all HDMI as well as DVI (w/HDMI Adapter) Specifications

STEVENSVILLE, Md. Aug. 26, 2008 - Centronics, Inc. (centronics.com), a leading distributor of audio, video, and accessory products for the security, commercial, and residential markets since 1959, is proud to announce the launch of its new EHD -branded HCCX powered HDMI repeater. The HCCX powered HDMI repeater can transmit a 1080p signal up to 30 meters and works with all HDMI as well as DVI specifications. The HCCX is now available with an MSRP of $79.95.

"Many of today's home theater systems involve large amounts of electronics, many times which are based in cabinets, racks, or stands a long distance, and sometimes even in different rooms, from the connected high definition television or video projector," explained Tony Pelura, Centronics general manager. "Long distance HDMI cables have a difficult time keeping voltage when used with other devices. There are repeaters available now, but most use 'passive' technologies, meaning that those units get voltage from such devices. The powered EHD HCCX will compensate for the low voltage outputs on many cable, satellite, and ATSC devices. It has also been helpful when trying to split or switch HDMI. We have used this with great success to compensate for that loss."

The HCCX is both HDMI and HDCP compliant up to 1.3b specifications and supports 1080p, 1080i, 720p, 480p, and 480i resolutions. The HCCX's 1080p transmitting range is 30 meters total length, and 1080i and 720p at 35 meters total length.

"The HCCX works with all HDMI specifications as well as DVI (DVI to HDMI adapter required) and it is also enabled to regulate the voltage of either a longer or shorter cable," Pelura added. "A switch on the front makes it easy to specify the voltage needed."
