LIFT -TECH Announces New Self -Concealing Cabinet Top Motorized Flat Panel TV Lifts

Lift-Tech's Self-Concealing Cabinet Top Presents an Elegant Solution to the Dilemma of How to Get the Cabinet Top Out of View while Preserving the Swivel Functionality of the Motorized Lift.

LIFT -TECH has announced that its new, industry -first self -concealing cabinet top series of lifts for motorized flat panel TVs is now available. The self -concealing cabinet top series, designated models LT -200 -SCT and LT -200 -S -SCT, are available in Up/Down or Up/Down/Swivel designs.

"Lift -Tech's self -concealing cabinet top presents an elegant solution to the dilemma of how to get the cabinet top out of view while preserving the swivel functionality of the motorized lift," explained Russ Fawkes, LIFT -TECH general manager. "On command, the cabinet top conceals itself within the cabinetry behind the Plasma or LCD TV while the flat screen rises. And, for additional functionality, the self -concealing cabinet top and the lift system are electronically linked for one command, sequential operation."

Ever the safety conscious minded, the LT -200 -SCT and LT -200 -S -SCT Series of lifts include a separate motorization mechanism that utilizes an innovative adjustable slip clutch as a safety feature to conceal and reveal the cabinet top.

The new LT -200 -SCT and LT -200 -S -SCT Series of lifts came as a result of Lift -Tech customers asking for an optional design in addition to Lift -Tech's existing cabinet -top solutions.

"We always listen to what our customers ask of us," Fawkes continued. "Our original backplate option was introduced by Lift -Tech as an alternative to the 'box within a box' design. This innovation gave rise to two different approaches to handling the cabinet top: either raising it above the TV or in the case of up/down lifts, hinging the cabinet top so that it is, for the most part, concealed behind the backplate when the lift rises."

Fawkes explained that both of these techniques of dealing with the cabinet top allowed for a more high -tech look of visually presenting the Plasma or LCD TV without the traditional look of a surrounding wooden inner box.

The downside of these approaches, he added, that were expressed by some customers, was that in the first case, the cabinet top was still visible which was not aesthetically pleasing to them. And, in the second, hinged approach, it would not work with swivel lifts since the hinged top in the open position would prohibit the swivel functionality.

"What we ultimately designed is a functional, aesthetically -pleasing, and safety oriented solution to meet all of the standards of our most discerning customers," Fawkes concluded. "As flat panel technologies and aesthetic requirements continue to evolve, so do the accessories that have to meet, or exceed, the requirements set by the flat panel manufacturers."
