Asheridge Communications, the specialist provider of home AV solutions, has launched a high -functionality HM4, Home Entertainment Server at a very affordable price. Unveiled to the UK market at this year's CEDIA Expo, the HM4 server enables all home entertainment media to be stored in one location but with the ability to stream content to any number of remotely located media players within a property.
The HM4 Home Entertainment Server from Asheridge provides an unparalleled, single box entertainment solution for both the custom install and smaller, commercial market sectors. The system can store a wide range of content including freeview TV, audio CD, personal DVD, internet and HD, and stream it to as many locations as required.
The 1TB or 2TB drives can stream up to four independent freeview channels. Users can pause, rewind or record programmes in real time as well as play back previously recorded content. Content can also be streamed directly from the internet including Utube TV, Google TV and a variety of HD content. All links are preloaded into the local media players; which provides future proofing.
Audio CD content can be auto ripped and archived onto the server, which produces a high quality loseless copy (FLAC) as well as an automatic lossy (320K) MP3 format. Personal DVD content can also be stored, using third party software, with full control of playback.
The HM4 Home Entertainment Server benefits from being compatible with an ever increasing number of Twonky media and dlna certified products including Logitech, Play station portable and Nokia devices.
Kevin Swanton, Sales Director at Asheridge explains: "We are very excited about this entertainment centre as it provides everything that our installers have been asking us for over the last year. It provides an easily retrofitable solution that they can offer to end clients that have been dissuaded from installing streamed media in the past due to the high cost of entry. The ability to upgrade to the new HD services when they are launched means that this will become the product that all homes will want."
The stylishly designed Local Media players have a low noise, fan -less cooling system. They are controlled by a simple to use IR remote control; supplied with each unit, and provide full support for all major industry formats including:
• Video: MPEG1, MPEG2, AVI, VOB,WMV9/VC -1 up to 1080p
• Audio: MP2, MP3 AAC, WMA, Vorbis, AC3 , FLACS and DTS (pass through)
• Video output: HDMI, component, composite and S video.
All Players also benefit from component and HDMI outputs ready for the HD content upgrades in the future.
