GefenTV Audio Processor Enables Creation of Surround Sound Environments Using One HDMI Signal

Connectivity solutions provider Gefen announces its GefenTV Audio Processor at InfoComm.

This innovative solution enables users to create surround sound in any location where hi -def digital video is displayed by accepting one HDMI source and outputting two HDMI signals. One is a pass -through to an HDMI display or projector with support for 1080p full HD, and the other is sent to an external audio receiver.

The GefenTV Audio Processor decodes the second HDMI signal to provide eight discrete RCA audio connectors so users can create a lush audio environment and an engaging HDTV experience. It delivers 25 watts per channel audio amplification and supports today's popular formats including Dolby Digital 5.1, Dolby Digital EX, Dolby Pro Logic II, AC3, DTS Express, DTS ES and DTS 96/24.

Control and access is granted through the unit's front panel button selections, with a simple on -screen display that guides users through their selections. Users also have the option of using the digital S/PDIF audio input and the digital TOSlink output for digital audio connections aside from the 8 -channel audio outputs.
