MediaGate Transforms Home Entertainment System with Affordable, Wireless Media Server

MG-450HD Entertainment Server Brings the Vast World of Multimedia to the Living Room

Baldwin Park, Calif., February 26, 2008 - MediaGate, a provider of wireless HDTV and PC digital video drives, wirelessly bridges the gap between digital content and television, bringing the cosmic amounts of online digital content to life in the home entertainment system. The MG -450HD entertainment server lets consumers wirelessly stream high -definition video, music, and photos directly to an HDTV or stereo system from the PC.

With the MediaGate MG -450HD, users can easily surf for content from multiple sources -including PCs on the home WLAN or attached USB devices like a digital camera or USB flash drive. Easy to setup and use, the MG -450HD operates on 802.11g wireless networks, and supports HDMI for high definition output, composite, S -video, and component video outputs, in addition to stereo L/R, optical/coaxial digital audio, and analog 5.1 channels.

For maximum flexibility, users can add the hard drive of their choice, letting them customize their media center for their storage needs - whether it's 80 or 750 GB. The MG -450HD can also act as a Digital Media Adapter (DMA) and stream multimedia content from a PC to HDTV without any hard drive.

The MG -450HD taps into the explosion of online video and digital media, and rising popularity of peer -to -peer sharing and pay -per -download sites. A 2007 Pew Internet and American Life Project study found that 75% of young adults and 57% of adults watch or download Internet video; and 67% of young adults share online video, with most sending video to more than one person.

"We are turning to the Web for our entertainment with greater frequency -from catching up on our favorite network show, to watching the week's hot viral video, and downloading high -definition movies. This is evident with the phenomenal success of sites like YouTube, BitTorrent, and Guba," said Jason Chen, President of Sales and Marketing of MediaGate. "And while the growth of online video has transformed personal entertainment, most people are limited to watching content on a 14" laptop display, even at home where their HDTV sits idly by. The MG -450HD breaks this cycle, by providing easy and affordable access to digital downloaded content anywhere in the home theater."

The MediaGate MG -450HD is available now for just $249 MSRP. Also available from MediaGate is the MG -45, and the MG -250HD.
