All Systems Go: U.S. Green Building Council Gives Crestron® the Green Light

Company Joins USGBC®, Industry's Leading Council on Green Building

As the AV industry and control systems in particular come to the forefront of the green movement in the building and architecture community, Crestron today announced that it has joined the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC®), the organization responsible for creating the LEED Green Building Rating System™. This membership emphasizes Crestron's leadership position in the AV industry as well as its commitment to 'going green,' and will ultimately benefit Crestron dealers that are integrating Crestron control solutions in projects applying for LEED certification.

"Going green is nothing new for Crestron -we've designed and manufactured environmentally efficient solutions for decades," said Randy Klein, Executive Vice President, Crestron. "Our goal in joining the USGBC is to share our expertise and experience in controlling and managing systems to maximize energy conservation and cost savings."

The inclusion of Crestron in the USGBC will streamline the LEED accreditation process in projects that incorporate Crestron solutions. Crestron solutions have already been selected for some of the most forward -thinking LEED projects in the world, including the Hearst Building in New York City, EcoManor in Atlanta, the ComCast Center in Philadelphia, the offices of Cook + Fox Architects in New York City and the planned CityCenter luxury high rise in Las Vegas. Crestron control solutions such as iLux enable daylight harvesting with both lighting and shade/drape control.

Crestron also offers an unparalleled suite of software solutions including D3 Pro™ and SystemBuilder™, which both offer built -in scheduling functionality so that systems not in use can be shut off automatically.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) is a non -profit organization committed to expanding sustainable building practices. USGBC is composed of more than 12,000 organizations from across the building industry that are working to advance environmentally responsible, profitable, and healthy places to live and work.
