WILMINGTON, NC - Jan. 18, 2008 - MetaRip, the CD -loading service founded by media server pioneers Nick Carter and Zachary Piech, has expanded to support all major server brands with MetaRip Ultra.
Nick and Zach first teamed up in 2001 when Carter joined ReQuest as VP of Sales to launch AudioReQuest into the custom market. Zach joined ReQuest in 1999 as an engineer. He helped ReQuest Founder John Reine build the first 100 ReQuest servers by hand, then set up manufacturing and took over operations for the burgeoning market leader. By 2003, Carter and Piech were running the day -to -day operation of ReQuest, overseeing a 600+ dealer network. Both retain significant ownership in ReQuest from stock options awarded for their achievements.
They founded MetaRip in 2006 to add value to ReQuest dealers by delivering top -notch encoding and accurate metadata needed for high -end servers. "The state of metadata was not up to the standards needed for the high -end market," says Carter. "A typical collection requires hours of manual grooming in order to eliminate errors and omissions." In alliance with Get Digital Data, MetaRip contributes to make the best in class GD3 database, even better. "MetaRip brings much needed expertise and commitment to excellence, to the ripping market," says Doug Stracota, President of Get Digital Data. "We've worked jointly over the past year to provide better software tools and accurate metadata needed to meet the demands of the high -end server market."
After leveraging ReQuest expertise to develop the most accurate CD -loading service, MetaRip is pleased to announce MetaRip Ultra - a cost effective service for all major server lines. "Over the course of 2007, we'd occasionally be asked by ReQuest dealers to load servers by Escient, Sonos, Elan, Crestron, and iPods," says Carter. "We already had the technology and know -how, so now we're actively pursuing that business." MetaRip is available exclusively through dealers.
