CEDIA Steps Back from Spring EXPO and Focuses on Electronic Lifestyles® Forum Instead

Market conditions and additional member feedback prompt change from large, traditional trade show format to smaller, more intimate environment.

Indianapolis, Ind. (October 30, 2007) - Meaningful exposure are the keywords for events produced by the Custom Electronic Design & Installation Association (CEDIA) -meaningful exposure for exhibitors, sponsors, partners and attendees alike. For example, CEDIA has ensured that 100 of the nation's top architects, builders and interior designers will attend the Electronic Lifestyles® Forum with the owners of electronic systems companies this spring, and that kind of cross -industry interaction isn't available anywhere else in the electronic systems marketplace.

Affordability, however, is also important to CEDIA members, particularly to manufacturers and exhibitors who have significant cost factors to consider for each trade show they attend. Though there was support for the recently announced Spring EXPO concept initially, member feedback regarding market condition changes and other factors have prompted CEDIA to step back from Spring EXPO at this time and focus on education and expanding the exposure opportunities with architects, builders and interior designers at the third annual Electronic Lifestyles® Forum.

"The feedback from our members has changed over the past couple of months and they are no longer ready for a full -force tradeshow such as what was planned for the 2008 Spring EXPO," said Don Gilpin, CEDIA executive director. "However, CEDIA members are still very interested in exposure to residential architects, builders and interior designers, and we have an opportunity to offer excellent interaction with the best -of -the -best in the design and build professions in an affordable, collaborative environment."

Along with the Electronic Lifestyles® Forum education opportunities and round -table discussions, CEDIA will be offering a new table -top display option for sponsoring manufacturers. According to CEDIA, the table -top set -up will give the architects, builders and interior designers a hands -on experience.

According to CEDIA, their main priority is their members. Eliminating expenses, while creating another exposure opportunity benefits all parties. This one -of -a -kind industry event that brings together professionals invested in the residential electronic systems industry will create a strong atmosphere where industry leaders can not only share ideas and opinions, but actually touch and experience new products that may benefit their companies.

The CEDIA Electronic Lifestyles® Forum will be held April 30 - May 2, 2008 in Dallas, TX at the Adolphus Hotel. Sponsorship are now available. Companies interested in participating may contact Tom Bewsey of CEDIA at (317) 328 -4336 or tbewsey@cedia.org.
