2000 Cinema Ribbon Duo Units Sold In less Than a Year
Snohomish WA, October 9, 2007 - - Sunfire Corp., a leading specialist in the design, manufacture and marketing of luxury home theater goods for the custom installation and custom retail markets, announced another significant milestone for the popular brand. Since the company began shipping less than twelve months ago, 2000 units of their innovative Cinema Ribbon loudspeaker model (CRM -2) have been sold.
The Cinema Ribbon CRM -2 ($800 each MSRP), also referred to as the Duo for its pair of side -firing drivers, was launched at CEDIA 2006 and began shipping last November. Since that time, it has garnered rave reviews and numerous industry awards such as CES Innovations Design & Engineering Award, Electronic House Product of the Year, and Custom Retailer's EXC!TE award.
In addition to the Duo and its center channel companion CRM -2C, Sunfire has also launched the CRS -3 Trio, an on -wall version of the Cinema Ribbon for flat panel applications. And at CEDIA this year, Sunfire just premiered the Trio CRW -3 in -wall. This gives customers the choice they desire, without the hassle - all speakers utilize the same components for a matched system, regardless of which individual components are selected.
"The Cinema Ribbon family of high performance speakers is a perfect example of the unconventional design approach that Sunfire has become famous for", explained Sunfire General Manager Mark Weisenberg. "This remarkable sales achievement, combined with the tremendous critical acclaim and awards the products have received, further reaffirms that our painstaking efforts are recognized and rewarded. Sunfire is destined to lead, not follow."
The CRM -2 is a compact two -way monitor with a specially designed 6" high efficiency ribbon driver paired with two 4.5" side -firing High Back -emf drivers. The robust ribbon combined with specially designed high output woofers allows the CRM -2 to handle more than 400 watts of power. Yet despite its astonishing power handling capability, the CRM -2 boasts a sensitivity rating of 90dB! The Cinema Ribbons are well -suited for critical music listening or lifelike home theater and are ideally matched with any of Sunfire's high power, small subwoofers.
With the Duo, Sunfire also offers the CRM -2C a complementary center channel speaker utilizing the same 4.5" High Back -emf drivers and 6" ribbon. Together they complete the home theater experience with believable dialog and plenty of localization and detail. Both the CRM -2 and CRM -2C are finished in gorgeous, hand -rubbed ebonized rosewood with seven coats of lacquer. Both models also feature a handy boundary compensation switch that allows the user to easily tailor the sound for the specific room or placement.
The Sunfire Cinema Ribbon loudspeakers were conceived and designed based on years of research into psychoacoustics conducted by Sunfire founder and industry legend Bob Carver. The result is amazingly high output and detail with controlled dispersion to eliminate unwanted reflections off the ceiling and floor with improved imaging. The Cinema Ribbons deliver floorstanding performance without the floor; it is big sound from small places.
