Feature-Rich and Affordable; 9-Source / 4-Zone Multi-Room Audio System with Intercom and Paging
DENVER, CO., - September 5, 2007 - Offering value unmatched in the industry, NetStreams™, the global leader in networked audio/video distribution based on Internet Protocol (IP), launched the new NetStreams Quartet™ Q4000 Multi -Room Audio system here today at the CEDIA Expo, the world's largest exposition devoted to whole house entertainment and control systems. Quartet is a Multi -Room Audio system that allows homeowners to listen to nine different global audio sources in up to four different zones at the same time. Quartet features an integrated FM tuner, four analog audio inputs and the ability to add four additional in -room sources with the addition of NetStreams' Audio Ports. The Quartet Multi -Room Audio system is the first entry -level system on the market to feature whole house and room -to -room paging.
"NetStreams developed Quartet in response to demand from our dealers who wanted to see a broader line from NetStreams so that they can expand their business," said Kevin Reinis, President and CEO of NetStreams.
As part of the package, the Quartet includes four tastefully designed, slim line in -wall keypads. Incorporating an incredible array of features and technology, each keypad comes with a built -in intercom microphone for "Push -to -Talk" communications, (room -to -room paging) as well as room monitoring, a feature not commonly found with entry -level Multi -Room Audio systems. "Consumers will be thrilled that they don't need to have a separate whole house paging / intercom system installed in their home," commented Reinis. "We've also pushed the envelope by adding another unique feature we call 'Rest -N -Rise", which lets the user select the time they want the system to shut off (sleep) as well as turn on (wake)."
The Quartet keypads fit in a 2 gang box and feature hard key controls for volume (up/down), source selection, as well as buttons for pause, play, shuffle, repeat, previous track, next track, previous (rewind), next (fast forward), stop, mode and intercom. Measuring less than 1 -inch deep, the keypads feature two (2) RJ45 connectors, making the keypads perfect for challenging installation environments. Dealers can connect a NetStreams Audio Port (sold separately) to any of the keypads to provide for up to four (4) additional remote audio sources (like a PC or DVD player placed in a room).
The heart of the Quartet system is the Q4000 Multi -Room Processor (MRP). The MRP features a 400 -watt amplifier (rated at 6 ohms) with four (4) pair of speaker output connections, an FM tuner, and RJ45 connections for the Quartet keypads. In addition, there are stereo line outputs for each individual zone, permitting expansion via an outboard amplifier on a room -by -room basis. The MRP also features four (4) stereo pair of line -level inputs paired with four (4) discrete IR emitter outputs to accept and control four -source components, any or all of which are available for simultaneous distribution. Dealers can maximize the audio performance in each room, thanks to a 5 -band graphic equalizer, NetStreams' 3D -Sound mode activation (for rooms with challenging speaker locations), as well as room loudness contour and balance adjustments. Additionally NetStreams has included global and remote source input compensation adjustments (0 dB to -12 dB), allowing the installers to set all sources to a consistent volume level.
"NetStreams Quartet is the perfect solution for multi -dwelling properties, new and existing residential homes, and model home standouts," said Petro Shimonishi, NetStreams Vice President of Marketing and Product Management. "Never before have so many high -end features in Multi -Room Audio been available at such a value. We're so pleased to offer this exceptional product set."
The front of the Quartet Multi -Room Processor incorporates a sleek, LCD display that shows the selected room, source, and FM tuner information, and includes a small IR receiver window. Small and compact, the MRP takes a half rack space, and can easily be placed among other audio components, on a shelf or inside a media cabinet.
The Quartet is amazingly easy to configure and requires minimal programming. Dealers can set up to twenty (20) FM tuner presets for easy selection from the keypad, and if they don't know the FM stations in the area, NetStreams has provided a new feature called "Auto Preset Programming" which will easily search out and program in FM station presets for those stations with good reception in the area. Additional features such as FM tuner sensitivity search adjustments (inner city/multi -path, country, and mountain), de -emphasis adjustments and FM tuner spacing for terrific aural reproduction in North America and Europe. IR codes to control the sources are easily learned in via the IR window on the front of the MRP, and dealers can easily type in the names of the rooms and sources for display on the front window of the MRP.
The NetStreams Quartet Multi -Room Audio system will ship Q4 2007.
