WOODBURY, NY - At CEDIA Expo 2007, JBL, Inc., is expanding its lineup of custom installation home entertainment solutions with the introduction of its LS360C in -ceiling speaker, designed to deliver reference -quality sound in a wide variety of applications. The company is also premiering its JBL® Cinema Sound CSS10W wireless subwoofer, which combines outstanding bass performance with versatile wireless connectivity.

Also being showcased are the latest JBL Synthesis systems and components; there will be live demonstrations of a complete JBL Synthesis Project Array 7.4 -channel system in a large -scale custom -home -theater installation.

Following are highlights of the JBL products and systems making their debut at the Colorado Convention Center, Booth 580 (September 6 - 9).

LS360C In -Ceiling Speaker: Innovative Technologies for Exceptional Sound Quality

The innovative JBL LS360C in -ceiling home theater Loudspeaker is designed to deliver sound quality far superior to that of conventional in -ceiling speakers, in a wide variety of home entertainment, custom -installation and multiroom -audio applications.

The LS360C utilizes the advanced -technology JBL Radiator Plus flat -panel woofer, which is constructed from an aluminum/ceramic multilayer diaphragm material that is far more rigid and lightweight than other types of cone materials, yielding exceptional resolution. The Radiator Plus woofer incorporates a host of additional refinements, including a suspension that enables the driver to behave more like an ideal pistonic radiator, for superior clarity and transient response.

The Radiator Plus woofer is complemented by dual 3 -inch aluminum/ceramic midrange drivers and a 1 -inch pure -titanium tweeter mounted in an Elliptical Oblate Spheroidal™ (EOS) waveguide, to deliver clear, detailed sound over a wide listening area. All the drivers are mounted on baffles that are angled to provide superior dispersion and an expansive sound field from a space -saving configuration.

The LS360C is supplied with an integral back -box rear enclosure that is optimized for maximum bass response and efficiency. The enclosure also provides acoustic isolation. For best performance in any location, the LS360C includes a low -frequency boundary -compensation switch and a tweeter -level control. The LS360C is perfect for use with other JBL in -wall, in -ceiling, freestanding or wall -mountable

loudspeakers, and with subwoofers. It is designed for ease of installation in both new and existing homes, and optional rough -in frames are available for preconstruction installation.

The JBL Studio L Series LS360C in -ceiling loudspeaker will be available in October 2007 at a suggested retail price of $599 each.

CSS10W: Wireless Operation for Unmatched Subwoofer Installation Flexibility

The JBL Cinema Sound CSS10W is the company's first wireless subwoofer. It offers outstanding bass performance, as well as the versatility of wireless connectivity, making it ideal for an expanded range of custom -installation and home entertainment applications.

The CSS10W can be used in a home theater or music system without having to run any connecting wires through walls or under floors, for easy placement and installation. The CSS10W is elegant in design, with a slim, high -gloss -black and metallic -silver enclosure that matches the styling of other JBL Cinema Sound loudspeakers, and complements a wide variety of home entertainment systems.

The JBL CSS10W includes a compact transmitter/receiver module that connects to an audio/video receiver (or other audio source), and operates in the 2.4GHz frequency range for clear, reliable signal transmission to the wireless transceiver unit that is built into the subwoofer. The CSS10W includes a full complement of controls and connection options for optimal performance in any installation.

The CSS10W features a built -in 300 -watt peak/150 -watt RMS amplifier, and a high -excursion 10 -inch woofer that utilizes the company's proprietary PolyPlas™ polymer -coated -cellulose -fiber cone material to provide articulate bass performance with faster transients, and higher playback levels without distortion. The CSS10W can be matched with any floorstanding, bookshelf, in -wall or on -wall speaker to create a complete multichannel speaker system that delivers exceptional surround sound.

The JBL CSS10W wireless powered subwoofer will be available in October 2007 at a suggested
retail price of $559.

New Control® Series Loudspeaker: Unique Design Enables Multiple Installation Configurations

At CEDIA 2007, there will be a sneak preview of a new JBL Control high -performance loudspeaker. This new addition to the Control Series line will feature a unique quarter -round design that provides an unprecedented variety of installation possibilities. The Control loudspeaker's drivers are mounted behind its curved quarter -round front section, and the rear of its enclosure has three angled sections that enable it to be mounted between a ceiling and wall, against two corners of two walls, or either horizontally or vertically on a shelf. Multiple Control speakers can be joined to create half -round, three -quarter -round or back -to -back configurations. Pricing and availability for the JBL Control speaker will be announced.

JBL Synthesis Electronics: Designed for Ultimate Performance

The current JBL Synthesis lineup incorporates upgrades that are among the most significant in its 15 -year history. All systems now feature latest generation loudspeaker technologies and electronics, including SDEC -4000 or SDEC -3000 multichannel digital equalizers, to deliver extraordinary sonic accuracy, in any room, that meets or exceeds the standards for professional theaters.

The JBL Synthesis SDEC -4000 digital equalizer - included in the Synthesis Project Array system and in other JBL Synthesis systems - and the SDEC -3000 are sophisticated audio processors that optimize the performance of a Synthesis multichannel system in any room through the application of leading -edge DSP technologies and up to 120 bands of fully parametric digital equalization. The SDEC -4000 and SDEC -3000 are significantly improved from previous models, and provide extraordinary sonic accuracy, as well as ease of installation and greater operational flexibility. All JBL Synthesis systems are now shipping with either the SDEC -4000 or SDEC -3000.

In all rooms, there are powerful room resonances that overly emphasize some frequencies and attenuate others. The SDEC -4000 and SDEC -3000 compensate for these irregularities with far more precision than is available from traditional equalization methods. Both models offer filter parameters from 1/100 -octave to four octaves wide at +15dB to - infinity, between 20Hz - 20kHz, to correct dips and peaks throughout the frequency range. Because no two rooms are alike, JBL DACS™ (Digital Acoustic Calibration System) technology allows a JBL factory -trained -and -certified technician to custom -fit the sound of a Synthesis system to the room in which it is installed. DACS technology uses multiple microphones to measure five different locations in a room, and applies proprietary 24 -bit digital -signal processing to analyze and correct for the room's frequency dips and peaks to achieve extremely accurate in -room frequency response.

The SDEC -4000 and SDEC -3000 offer numerous additional advanced features, including automatic time -alignment compensation for all of the loudspeakers and drivers in a multichannel system; an Auto -Film -Screen -Compensation feature that automatically corrects for the attenuation in high -frequency output that can occur when a loudspeaker is located behind a projection screen; Windows® -based application software for advanced system -configuration capabilities; and more. The SDEC -4000 has the capability of equalizing up to 16 main and surround channels, and four subwoofers, while the SDEC -3000 can equalize up to eight channels and two subwoofers. In addition, the SDEC -4000 features a built -in crossover for use with the Synthesis® Array™ Module (SAM) SAM 1 midrange/high -frequency loudspeaker array and SAM 2 low -frequency loudspeaker array.

The JBL Synthesis SDP -40HD surround processor/preamplifier is a state -of -the -art component that delivers unsurpassed digital -audio and high -definition -video performance. It offers numerous advanced features, including six HDMI™ inputs, twelve configurable audio inputs, and multiple DC trigger control outputs and IR inputs. The SDP -40HD incorporates two 24 -bit/192kHz digital -to -analog converters operating in dual -mono mode for each audio output, to provide the highest possible fidelity and resolution.

Synthesis Array Loudspeakers: Superlative Sonic Accuracy and Installation Flexibility

The JBL SAM 1 midrange/high -frequency array and SAM 2 low -frequency array loudspeakers, which are now included in the Synthesis One Array, Synthesis Two Array and Synthesis Three Array systems, and the SAM3HA and SAM3VA Synthesis Array Module horizontal and vertical loudspeakers incorporate advanced engineering and materials and bring the configurable installation versatility of the company's acclaimed VerTec® line -array professional audio loudspeakers to home listeners.

The SAM 1, SAM3HA and SAM3VA share many of the driver technologies - including proprietary Bi -Radial® horns that are mated with an aluminum midrange and pure -titanium compression drivers - of the company's reference -standard Project Array and K2® Series loudspeakers. The Bi -Radial horns incorporate their midrange/high -frequency and ultrahigh -frequency transducers into a unified horn assembly, a design that optimizes the horn's dispersion and tonal accuracy, and delivers extended high -frequency response to beyond 40kHz.

The SAM 2 employs dual 8 -inch woofers that utilize exclusive JBL Metal Matrix technology, in which the aluminum woofer cones are deep -anodized to produce rigid yet lightweight driver diaphragms, providing exceptional articulation. The SAM 1 and SAM 2's modular design enables them to be easily attached together to create loudspeaker arrays in a variety of configurations.

Project Array Loudspeakers: Designed to Deliver Extraordinary Sound Quality

The Project Array model 1400 Array loudspeakers used in the JBL Synthesis Array system at CEDIA 2007 incorporate innovative JBL compression -driver technologies and advanced -technology dynamic drivers to take advantage of the sonic strengths of both designs. (The 1400 Array and other Project Array models are also available separately.) Project Array Series loudspeakers incorporate Bi -Radial horn compression drivers and other advanced technologies to deliver extraordinary sonic accuracy; they're as distinctive in appearance, with an elegant lacquered -wood finish, complemented by an ultraflat, soft -touch, rubberized black finish for the top surfaces, as they are in performance.

The Synthesis Project Array system featured at CEDIA also includes the S4Ai multipolar in -wall surround -effects loudspeaker, which can be switched to bipole, dipole or direct -radiating operation for optimum surround reproduction in any home theater system, and the S1S -EX subwoofer, which features a massive 18 -inch woofer with true deep bass extension all the way down to 18Hz.
