INDIANAPOLIS, July 26, 2007 - Thomson (Euronext Paris: 18453; NYSE: TMS) has shipped its new GE28128EE2 DECT 6.0™ Cell Fusion™ cordless home phone, which sends and receives calls from most any Bluetooth™ enabled cellular phone. It is the only cell -integrated product on the market with interference -free DECT 6.0 technology. The phone will be available at major retailers nationwide.
"Consumers have asked for a way to integrate their cell and home telephones, so they will never miss a cell call again in their home," said Tom Bratton, Vice President, Sales and Marketing, Consumer Network Solutions, Thomson. "We have come up with an elegant solution that includes DECT 6.0, the best cordless interference -free home technology on the market. By placing your Bluetooth cell phone where it receives the best reception in your home, you can now talk in comfort on up to seven handsets throughout the house. It even uses your free cell minutes!"
The GE Cell Fusion phone easily synchronizes with up to two Bluetooth -enabled cell phones with one touch of a button, giving consumers access to key cell phone features they normally only use outside the house. The unit also has a highly desirable feature uncommon in most home phones today, including "Push to Talk" technology - a traditional cell phone feature which many consumers have expressed interest in having on their home phones during Thomson's focus group studies.
The GE Cell Fusion phone gives consumers many flexible features for integrating the product into their daily lifestyles including easy management of contacts and calendar features (via PC Software Manager). The phone also allows for downloadable ring tones for easy caller identification and includes built in battery backup operation during power outages. Expandable up to seven handsets, each GE28128EE2 comes complete with speakerphone capabilities.
