FogScreen™ Projection Screen Took Center Stage at the Eurovision 2007 Finals with Lordi

Eurovision Song Contest 2006 winner Lordi and FogScreen projection screen opened the 2007 Eurovision Finals

Helsinki 13 May 2007 - FogScreen projection screen proudly stood center stage with Lordi when the two opened the Eurovision 2007 Finals in live broadcast to viewers across Europe. Rumors around FogScreen projection screen's appearance at the Eurovision Song Contest have circulated throughout the year, but understandably the organizers wanted to keep the breathtaking performance a surprise until the last minute. The show opened to atmospheric effects projected onto the FogScreen projection screen, followed by a visual narrative of northern Finland before returning to the live broadcast with Lordi onstage, playing their winning song from Eurovision 2006, "Hard Rock Hallelujah".

"When we first began planning for Eurovision in Helsinki, one of the first products we brought into discussions was FogScreen projection screen. Production Manager Ola Melzig had already earlier been interested to bring FogScreen projection screen in to the show. But
this year we did, I mean, how can you do a Eurovision in Finland without a FogScreen projection screen? It is, after all, a Finnish product!, says Mikki Kunttu, Lighting Designer, Eurovision Song Contest 2007, and continues: "Finland's host broadcaster YLE loved the idea and we called in FogScreen, Inc. personnel to find the best way to use the product during the show. It was decided that the opening of the Finals with Lordi was absolutely perfect. We used the FogScreen projection screen to show visual effects that the camera could actually float right through. It looked absolutely fantastic!"

"Eurovision Song Contest is the world's longest running song competition. The production of this live television broadcast to over 200 million viewers requires state -of -the -art lighting and video. That is why we are extremely honored that FogScreen projection screen was chosen for the opening act, playing significant role in the whole show. The Eurovision Song Contest is the largest live -stage event that we have so far had the privilege to participate in and is certainly among the most memorable ones for our company," says Mika Koivula, CEO of FogScreen, Inc.
