Nexus Audio Systems Launches New C -4.1 Multi -Room Controller

Nexus Audio Systems debuts the revolutionary C-4.1 multi-room audio system. A four source/four room (one zone) system designed for the Condo and MDU market.

Barrie, Ontario, March 27, 2007 - Nexus Audio Systems, a leader in audio/video distribution systems, has introduced a new price category to its product line with the release of the revolutionary C -4.1 multi -room audio system. Initially shown at the CEDIA Expo in Denver, to gain dealer feedback on desired features while still in the design phase, the C -4.1 will be shipping mid April.

The four source/one zone system is aimed at the new home and MDU market with specific feature sets for retrofit and new construction applications. The C -4.1 controller is comprised of an 8 x 20 watt amplifier, housed in a compact wall mount chassis that can be installed in an electrical room or closet, and includes four keypads with built -in IR receivers. The keypads connect to the controller via the Nexus Audio Systems 'Phantom Control', which uses the same four conductor wire that carries the audio signal to your speakers. Ideal for upgrading 'volume control' systems.

Four sets of audio input jacks and IR jacks are housed in an attractive wall plate that is installed in whichever room the source components will reside. The plate is then connected to the controller via a single CAT5 wire.

The C -4.1 was designed to solve many of the problems that installers face in today's market. In retrofit applications, when replacing a basic whole house audio system, there is no need to run additional CAT5 wiring between the keypads and the controller. No rack or shelf space is required, as the entire system is wall mounted out of sight. Active system LED's double as programming indicators when learning IR codes, and two controllers can be linked for up to eight rooms of audio. The fact that the C -4.1 is a one zone system makes it ideal for integration in a condominium, MDU or smaller home, where zone overlapping may be an issue.

For new construction, where the location of the head end may be unknown, installers can simply pre -wire CAT5 to various potential hubs, and install the input wall plate once the home owner takes possession. The wall mount design allows the controller to be installed, much like a structured wiring system, in an out of sight electrical room or closet. The system also comes with a handheld remote control that performs all of the functions that the keypads can.
