President and CEO David Lorsch noted, ''With our continued success over the past 18 years, and very significant growth ahead, we regularly assess our operational effectiveness and management's scope of responsibility. At this stage in DBL's development, we want to adjust some areas of responsibility to better and more effectively serve our customers, manufacturers and employees. We are gratified that the company has built the management depth to allow for the following four promotions:''
· Michael Balaskovits, previously chief financial officer, has been appointed senior vice president, operations. Balaskovits assumes responsibility and oversight of DBL's distribution center, inventory control, corporate purchasing and facilities. In addition, Balaskovits will oversee key capital improvement initiatives in 2007 including selection and implementation of a warehouse management system, freight and transportation process improvements and a reconfiguration of DBL's 100,000 sq. ft. distribution center. Balaskovits joined DBL as director of finance in October 2002 and has been responsible for DBL's corporate budgeting process and improved profitability through streamlined management of capital and fiscal resources across all business units. In addition to his experience at DBL, Balaskovits brings more than 20 years of finance and accounting experience with Panasonic and Karsten Manufacturing.
· Kurt Kilgast, previously director of business analysis, has been promoted to vice president, finance. In his new role, Kilgast will oversee DBL's accounting, financial planning and analysis and credit and collections organizations. Kilgast has direct responsibility for maintaining the integrity of DBL's financial statements, forecasting sales trends and identifying profit implications of such trends and maximizing profits through various vehicles, including inventory management and strategic planning. Kilgast joined DBL in 2006 and has over 20 years of experience in finance and accounting with Hollywood Video and The Limited Incorporated (Victoria's Secret Stores).
· Jason Gall, previously director of publishing has been promoted to vice president, merchandising and production. Initially hired in 2004 by DBL to manage all creative and publishing activities, Gall assumes responsibility for managing the merchandising and publishing departments to produce creative print marketing vehicles, including DBL's monthly sale flyers, customized vendor flyers and DBL's award winning catalog. Prior to joining DBL, Gall held a variety of management positions in production and publishing, bringing a breadth of knowledge and experience to his new position and DBL. As production director for Virgo Publishing, he was responsible for the production and manufacturing of 16 monthly business -to -business magazines. Gall held other positions including Group Art Director for Virgo Publishing and Art Director for Aztec Industries.
· Daniel Greenlee, previously director of sales has been promoted to vice president, retail sales. Greenlee joined DBL in 2004 as director of sales and has been instrumental in managing double digit growth within DBL's telesales channel. Under Greenlee's direction, DBL will develop and launch improved telesales, customer service training and performance objective programs designed to increase sales. Prior to joining DBL, Greenlee was the national sales manager for Fed -Ex -Kinkos and prior to that held several sales management positions for Qwest Communications and Ameritech.
