Blue Ocean® Projection Screens Poised to Redefine the Outdoor Home Theater

Blue Ocean® Projection Screens are ready to stand up to the skeptics and the weather to prove they are the ultimate outdoor home theater product.

The distributors of the Blue Ocean® Projection Screens, U.S. Nippura, Inc., have recently finished creating their home theater showroom. They have included a stunning 100E16:9 Blue Ocean® Projection Screen that displays a Toshiba HD DVD player, Samsung Blu -ray DiscTM player, or HD Direct TV and is rocked by a 7.1 surround system. Everything, including the lights and thermostat, are controlled be a Crestron® Remote Control System. With faux stucco textured walls and a vaulted ceiling full of wispy clouds, the theater has a feeling of a Tuscan village. Visitors can even enjoy a sunset and then pick out shapes in the twinkling stars.

But the main attraction isn't even in the showroom. U.S. Nippura has also installed a 72E16:9 Blue Ocean® Projection Screen in the exterior wall so that it can be viewed outside on the back deck. By design, Blue Ocean® Projection Screens are perfectly suited for unique applications such as this because the diffusion particles are finely cast into the center of optical cell cast acrylic. This is the same acrylic that is used in fighter jet canopies and the largest aquariums around the world so it acts as a perfect barrier to the elements. Normal wear and tear scratching has no long term effects on the screen's performance, and a 10 year old screen, simply re -polished, will literally look and perform exactly as it did the day it left the factory. US Nippura recommends installing shutters or doors over an outdoor screen to avoid damage from high winds or flying debris. They took it a step further by installing an automatic air piston lifting door in front of the screen. When the door is closed, the screen is hidden and protected, but then it lifts open to reveal the screen and 4 speakers. Meanwhile, the projector is safely suspended in the center of the garage so it is totally protected from the weather. Cables from the equipment upstairs were dropped through the floor so the Toshiba HD DVD player, Samsung Blu -ray DiscTM player, or HD Direct TV can be watched outside. A waterproof Crestron remote control makes it easy to control the entire system from the comfort of your favorite patio chair.
