RIVES AND TALON

RIVES AND TALON NEW REFERENCE PRODUCTS SOARING HIGH AT CES 2007 with VAC, WADIA, AND SHUNYATA

Coralville, IA -December 18th, 2006, Rives Audio and Talon Audio announce the debut of new reference products at CES 2007. Rives Audio will introduce the sub -PARC, a crossover, parametric, and digital switching amplifier (for bass section only), in a monoblock configuration. According to Rives Audio president, Richard Rives Bird: "Getting the bass right is the single biggest issue in a listening room. If you can control the bass with an active system such as this, and correct the bass with a parametric equalization, 90% of your room's woes are solved." This system is remarkable in that it can used to actively bi -amp a set of speakers or can be used with sub -woofers and even has the ability to automatically change settings both crossover and parametric when going from home theater to 2 channel listening. Estimated retail price is $4,500 per sub -PARC.

Rives Audio purchased Talon Audio in August 2006 and it took no time for them to get to work with a new product. That reference product is the Thunderhawk. The Thunderhawk, uses the original Hawk reference monitor from Talon, but adds a bass module beneath it. The module has the ability to work with the Hawk and function as a conventional speaker, but president Richard Rives Bird didn't stop there as he explained: "The Thunderhawk is a unique design allowing it to be passively or actively amplified. We intend to design speakers at Talon using Rives Audio technology to make them more room friendly. The Thunderhawk coupled with the sub -PARC does just that, and is the first in a series of developments you can expect from Talon." Estimated retail price is $25,000 a pair.
As if this weren't enough new reference series for the demonstration, the rest of the line up is equally impressive. In room 4606 at the Venetian: VAC will debut their 300.1 phi Reference Amplifier configured for monoblock operation. Wadia will demonstrate their new Series 9 reference system. Shunyata will be introducing their new V -Ray technology Hydra power conditioners. This is clearly a room not to miss!
