Tannoy has added the CMS801 DC to its already extensive range of in -ceiling speakers. The full line up of Tannoy's ceiling monitor systems satisfy a vast range of applications where there is a demand for high quality and yet unobtrusive sound systems; commercial installations such as shopping malls, airports, hotels, leisure facilities, cruise ships, pubs, clubs, boardrooms, through to residential custom installations for multi room systems or home theatre.
Incorporating a 200mm (8.00') Tannoy Dual Concentric™ point source, constant directivity drive unit, the CMS801 DC offers high power handling (180 Watts programme / 360 Watts peak) and wide dispersion to provide excellent coverage. Perfect for in -ceiling applications, the point source driver system generates a spherical wave front unaffected by energy loss at the crossover frequency in either vertical or horizontal planes. Delivering full bandwidth (47Hz - 30kHz @ -3dB) with high sensitivity (92dB), this compact unit is specifically designed for applications requiring the combination of premium sonic quality for music and speech reinforcement with exceptional intelligibility and reliability.
Exceptional ease of installation is facilitated by the patented self -aligning clamp mechanism and the supplied C -rings and tile bridge rails. A plaster (mud) ring is available as an optional accessory.
Two CMS801 DC model versions and a separate back can are available to satisfy the vast majority of installation application requirements:
• CMS801 DC BM (Blind Mount)
The CMS801 DC BM is equipped with a low insertion loss 60W line transformer mounted within the integral back can. This is easily configurable for 70 or 100 Volt systems via a tapping switch mounted on the front baffle of the speaker.
• CMS801 DC PI (Pre -Install)
The CMS801 DC PI is supplied without back can or transformer. If the product is to be used without a back can a 60W line transformer is available as an optional accessory for easy connection to the baffle mounted control switch circuit.
An optional pre -wire back can for use with the CMS801 PI is available to optimize performance and to provide compliance with safety ratings. The zinc plated steel CMS801 PI back can is supplied with the transformer pre -fitted. It also incorporates an integrated, recessed termination box and removable locking connector with screw terminals for secure wire termination and 'loop through' facility. Strain relief is provided by a clamping mechanism for use with plenum rated cable or conduit.
