SAN JOSE, CA - Addonics Technologies has made swapping hard drives a snap with its Snap -In SATA Mobile Rack, a removable hard drive system that allows easy hot swapping of 3.5 -inch SATA hard drives.



The Addonics Snap -In SATA Mobile Rack installs in minutes in any 5 ¼ -inch drive bay. It allows hard drives to be hot swapped by simply ejecting them and snapping in a new hard drive.



Users just need to open the Mobile Rack drive door, and the hard drive will be automatically ejected from the Snap -In SATA Mobile Rack for easy removal. Slide a new hard drive inside the Mobile Rack; close the door and the newly -installed hard drive will immediately make a power and data connection to the system.



Changing hard drives with the Snap -in SATA Mobile Rack is just as easy as installing a floppy disc in an old system. The advantage is that users can now hot swap multi -gigabyte hard drives versus the 1.44MBs of an older floppy.



Constructed in a stainless steel frame, the hard drive inside the Snap -in Mobile Rack rests on isolated mounts to minimize drive damage from vibration and shock. The back of the Snap -In Mobile Rack is equipped with a cooling fan to provide efficient air flow from the front through the back. The front bezel includes both power and drive access LEDs. The drive door is equipped with a key lock that also turns on the power when the drive is securely locked in place



The solution supports any 3.5 -inch SATA hard drive with point -to -point connection (no cables to connect each hard drive loaded into the rack). Drives are fully hot swappable with no need to power down the system.



In addition, Addonics offers a series of optional converter boards, which attach to the back of the Mobile Rack. The Snap -In SATA Mobile Rack can then be interfaced into any computer via the IDE, USB, or SCSI interface. With the addition of external power adapter and eSATA cable, the Snap -In Mobile Rack can also be installed as an external device with eSATA or USB connection to any computer.



The list price of the Addonics Snap -in SATA Mobile Rack is $26.95. The MSRP with USB 2.0 interface is $ 49.95; $ 47.95 with IDE interface, and $129.95 with LVD160 SCSI interface.
