The Architect Model 860/861 and Architect Model 660/661 unite CI specific features and advanced networking capabilities with the authoritative power, pristine sonics, and bulletproof reliability built into every AudioControl amplifier. Both models are built on the cool -running Class H foundation AudioControl has popularized to combat amplifier overheating, which affects a systems sonic performance and reliability. The Architect Model 860/861 has the 5 bands of custom -contoured equalization control for each channel (totaling 60 filters) popularized by their predecessors.
AudioControl amplifiers regularly impress listeners by delivering a more powerful sound than the wattage rating suggests. The Architect Model 860/861 and Architect Model 660/661 are no different. Each amplifier is rated to provide 60 powerful watts per channel into 8 ohms when all channels are driven full. Their ability to bridge channels and handle low impedance loads (stable at 2 ohms) add to their versatility and provide considerable power when needed.
These rugged amplifiers draw many of their performance features from AudioControl's award -winning Architect Model 960 16 -channel amplifier. Input bussing, 12 -volt trigger, and stereo -to -mono summing capabilities simplify installations. Each channel is discretely protected against clipping, shorting, over -temperature, and DC offset as a part of AudioControl's Exclusive LightDrive Anti -clipping Circuitry. LightDrive is a speaker -saving technology that has the unique ability to monitor the incoming signal to prevent the amplifier from clipping, guarding speakers against the harmful harmonics clipping produces.
The five bands of custom -contoured room equalization controls on the Architect Model 860/861 allow custom installation professionals to get the best performance from every speaker. Each of the five frequency centers is the result of an investigative study of in -wall speaker performance in common applications. AudioControl has removed the guesswork from the equalization process and simplified installation by determining the frequencies most often affecting speaker performance.
AudioControl stands behind the reliability of the Architect Model 860/861 and Architect Model 660/661 with an unheard of 5 -year warranty on the amplifiers, covering parts and labor. Each amplifier is designed and manufactured at the company's headquarters in Mountlake Terrace, Washington, located in the northwest corner of the United States.
The Architect amplifiers were released to the public at in Denver, Colorado at the CEDIA Expo 2006and will begin shipping in October.
