THE LATEST NILES SOLUTION: THE CAT -5 BALUNS

Extended cable runs and connectivity with ease and affordability

DENVER, COLORADO - September 05, 2006 - Niles Audio Corporation, The First Name in Custom Installation®, announces the release of the company's line of nine CAT -5 Baluns connectivity solutions that allow the installation of extended cable runs over longer distances, and enable system expansion in structures already wired with CAT -5 cable. Typically, system wire signals degrade over long distances, but by using CAT -5 Baluns, installers can extend a signal with increased flexibility, without sacrificing quality and at a fraction of the cost of other installation options. And because their circuitry is passive, Niles CAT -5 Baluns require no AC power and can be installed virtually anywhere. The line will be unveiled to the custom installation industry for the first time during CEDIA EXPO in Denver this September.

"Niles new connectivity devices give installers a powerful solution that significantly reduces costs and increases installation flexibility like never before," said Mike "Sparky" Detmer, vice -president of sales and marketing for Niles. "We are proud to offer these solutions to integrators and are confident they will ensure superb quality over longer distances."

Normally used in pairs, each CAT -5 Balun model in the series is designed with a specific application in mind, i.e., analog audio, digital audio composite video, S -video, cable TV, component video and digital audio, S -video and analog audio, and VGA signal distribution.

All of the CAT -5 Baluns devices feature rugged construction and a limited, 10 -year warranty, something dealers have come to expect from Niles for over 28 years. The line is shipping now.

ELK Products -C1M1 Dual-Path Alarm Communicators with Remote Services

C1M1 offers a truly significant reduction in transmission time in comparison to other communicators that rely on dial capture or data bus decoding. This can result in quicker response time to emergency situations which could save lives and assets. By providing both IP and cellular pathways, C1M1 provides the reliability installers are looking for in an alarm communicator. C1M1 eliminates port forwarding and extra fees for remote access. Installers can remotely upload/download programming changes to M1 controls over IP or cellular using ElkRP2. Consumers can control the M1 remotely via the free ElkLink mobile app and web portal, as well as eKeypad and M1 Touch Pro apps. Other IP-based software and interface partners can connect to the M1 control over the local network through C1M1. C1M1 also provides email/text notifications for arm, disarm, and alarm events. ELK-C1M14GSM supports GSM (AT&T/T-Mobile) networks and ELK-C1M1CDMA supports CDMA (Verizon) networks.
