Preparing for NFL 2006 in HDTV? Don't forget the Antenna

HDTV antennas provide the best picture possible with an HDTV set

August 18, 2006: EUREKA, MO - Thousands of football fans will kick off the 2006 NFL season with the purchase of a new HDTV set. But not all of them will be getting the best HD picture possible.

That's because many of them will be getting their local HD network signals through their cable provider. But the best picture possible on an HDTV set comes from an HD antenna.

"Cable companies use antennas to access the HD signal," Terrestrial Digital President Richard Schneider said. "But in order to transmit that signal to you, they need to compress it to fit in their cable lines. So the picture quality suffers."

HDTV antennas, much like traditional television antennas, can be used to access all of the local television network affiliates, which carry most of the NFL games each week. HDTV antennas work seamlessly with satellite systems as well, so users get the best of both worlds - great network programming and the national channels too.

And HD programming with an antenna is free. Beyond the cost of the antenna and tuner (if your TV does not have one built in), you won't pay a dollar for the service because the federal government owns the airwaves are public.

According to Schneider, the first step to getting the best HD picture possible is a visit to www.antennaweb.org. Visitors can enter their address, and this site will tell them how far they are from the nearest transmitting tower. Armed with that information, shoppers will be able to choose an antenna that works best for them.

Terrestrial Digital is a St. Louis based manufacturer and distributor of off air HDTV antennas. The company was founded in 2003 by Richard Schneider, and continues to be recognized for superior products by the HDTV community. Comelit - VIP Kit With Planux Monitor With WIFI/3G/4G Remote APP - 8512IM

The kit allows use of the video entry phone system via a door entry monitor as well as tablets and smartphones on the Wi-Fi network, or remotely on 3G (or higher) networks. The gateway in the pack allows connection of other devices (Comelit VIP door entry monitors or PCs) besides the door entry monitor supplied. In all cases, the gateway should be connected to an ASDL router or another device guaranteeing local Wi-Fi and mobile 3G connectivity. Depending on bandwidth limitations, the gateway can serve up to 15 appliances (including door entry monitors, smartphones, tablets and PCs) with 4 simultaneous door entry monitor streams. It also allows "intercom" communication between all of the 16 devices served. For mobile devices, whenever both modes are available and enabled, the app automatically switches. .
