Latest Version of Online Media Center Ensures Users Will Have Their Files When and Where They Need Them
SAN DIEGO, JUNE 26, 2006 - - Streamload®, a leading provider of online digital media services, today announced Streamload MediaMax™ 1.5, the latest version of the world's largest online media center. The new Streamload MediaMax service is the first in the online storage space offering a full suite of media sharing and remote access applications that include free file backup and file synchronization in one online service.
Streamload MediaMax allows users to easily store, organize, access, and share their entire digital media collection from one integrated online service. Version 1.5 integrates the management and sharing of online and offline media, by incorporating new features, a simplified user interface, and integrating free downloadable client software, called Streamload MediaMax XL, into the Streamload MediaMax service.
The new Streamload MediaMax XL application lets users easily upload to and download from Streamload MediaMax using a drag and drop window on their desktop. It also automatically performs regular backups of designated folders from their PC and it synchronizes files across multiple computers and devices every time new files are added, changed or deleted on their computer. The benefit of the Streamload MediaMax XL application's automatic backup and sync is users will always have their files when and where they need them without the hassle of manual uploads.
Users of the service can also invite friends and family to sync folders on their computers. Without any additional effort beyond putting the files on their own computers, users can automatically share photos and personal video instantaneously with others who are subscribed to their synchronized folders.
"Traditionally, consumers have been forced to use a lot of different tools and applications for their digital media needs, which is not only frustrating and time -consuming, but has caused many users to abandon their efforts to backup and share their personal photos and digital videos," said Steve Iverson, president and CEO of Streamload. "We are excited that Streamload MediaMax now offers our users one central place with all the tools they need to automatically preserve, manage, share, and synchronize across multiple computers and devices and with family and friends. The service remembers to do the organizing, synching, backing up and sharing for you."
In addition, version 1.5 of Streamload MediaMax has been revamped with a more intuitive user interface and additional options for organizing, tagging, batch editing and searching the contents of the service's photo share, video share, music lockers, and TV & movie lockers.
Streamload MediaMax runs on Windows®, Mac OS and Linux. The standard service is free and comes with 25 GB of online storage. A premium account gives subscribers 250 GB of storage for $9.95 per month, and the elite subscription offers 1000 GB for $29.95 per month (when paid annually.)
