Tridium Europe to Integrate the Global Caché GC-100 and GC-IRL with Tridium's Java Application Control Engine (JACE) to control and command A/V Equipment over a Network
Orlando, FL - June 5, 2006 - (InfoComm06 - Global Caché Booth #1249) Global Caché, the award winning provider of IP -enabling products for homes and businesses, and Tridium Europe, the European division of global software and technology company Tridium, recently acquired by Honeywell, announced today they have signed a strategic alliance agreement providing the framework for the companies to work closely to ensure that their products work seamlessly together.
Tridium, a global software and services company, develops and markets software and hardware for managing smart devices in commercial and residential buildings. Tridium's patent -pending Niagara Framework®, provides a software infrastructure to integrate diverse systems and devices into a unified platform that can be easily managed in real time over the Internet using a standard web browser. Niagara is commonly used to manage and control HVAC, lighting, access, security, fire and other building services related systems. In the homes context especially, there is a desire to also integrate AV equipment, with common web pad or touch panel user interfaces.
Chris Irwin, Tridium's European Regional Director said, "Our compatibility with Global Caché products will be extremely helpful to us in the MDU (multiple dwelling unit) space, as well as the boardroom and conference room market. With Niagara running on our JACE controllers, and using the GC -100 as a slave A/V controller, we are now able to control A/V equipment in multiple rooms via IP and IR in a cost -effective way. The implementation was surprisingly simple, and we're already involved in deploying such integrated systems."
Global Caché's products include the GC -100 Network Adapter, a flexible and easy to use hardware device connecting infrared (IR), serial (RS232), relay (contact closure) devices, and sensor input to a network. The GC -100 enables the use of network -based software to control and automate diverse devices throughout a home and business. In addition, Global Caché provides IR learning devices, sensors, and other connectivity products to connect previously unconnected systems to a network. Global Caché products are based upon open systems and accepted industry standards.
"We're excited about our new alliance with Tridium," said Walt Keller, Global Caché's President. "They are an extremely successful company in the commercial automation market with over 50,000 instances of Niagara operating in over 6,000 installations worldwide, and are also now expanding in the home automation market. The markets they address and the products they provide are an excellent fit with our product line. We're looking forward to a very successful partnership."
