Emphasis on compactness at e/home and belektro 2006

Fairs to be held jointly from 18 to 20 October

Berlin, 31 May 2006 - Messe Berlin is expanding the technical programme for this year's combined fairs e/home - International Trade Fair and Congress for the Networked Home - and belektro - Trade Fair for Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Lighting.


The duration of the two events has been altered accordingly. Like belektro, e/home will begin one day earlier, on 18 October, and will finish on 20 October 2006.

Visitors will benefit from the decision to run these two trade fairs concurrently, at the same location and sharing the same dates, since this will provide a fresh impetus and create additional synergies.

Dual events create added value

The e/home 2006 covers a wide range of topics, with an exhibition and accompanying programme focusing on the latest trends in home networking. The e/home Congress will comprise six panels with outstanding international speakers and participants, who will discuss the latest issues of practical relevance from around the world. A one -day panel on "Planning and Building" will be introduced for the first time at this year's e/home. In particular it will present and discuss actual examples of networked solutions in homes and houses. The subject areas covered will include not only developments in the construction of homes in Germany and in other countries but also some of the high -quality, standardised solutions now on offer.
(Prefabricated buildings) and individual solutions will also be on the agenda.

At the same time e/home offers interested trade visitors and congress participants an opportunity to examine products and practical solutions in the fields of electronics, electrical engineering, installations, building systems and lighting at belektro. The concept for these combined events is in line with the current trend towards comprehensive technical systems for buildings.


Other areas are also included, such as heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems (sanitary systems, heat pumps), information technology (communication systems within buildings, network systems) and home security (fire alarms and video installations, entry monitoring). Other topics covered by belektro consist of innovative energy technology (solar power systems, energy -saving systems, energy optimisation), lighting (lighting systems, lighting management, daylight systems) and general electrical engineering/electronics (construction elements, installation and systems engineering, interconnection systems etc.).
