HumaneInterface, a provider of Crestron custom programming and design services, has recently released to the public their new Speech Recognition Service for
Crestron Home Automation Systems, Voice Commander 2.0.

Voice Commander 2.0 is a voice application service that allows users of home automation systems to command and control their homes by voice via a telephone or a cellular phone. Voice Commander is based on the same advanced technology utilized by the airlines, banks and call centers around the world to automate their business operations. This technology makes use of ASR (Automatic Speech Recognition), TTS (Text to Speech) and NLU (Natural Language Understanding) to provide a highly sophisticated environment in which to interact with home automation systems.

Voice Commander allows a user to dial a privately held, dedicated telephone number, conveniently stored in the user's cellphone's address book. Voice Commander answers the phone and greets the caller. Then, it provides the available selections such as scenes, lighting,
security and temperature control. The user responds to simple prompts. At this point, the user may hang up the phone or continue to control their home automation system while safely knowing that their requests have been carried out at home.
