Arrival of the industry's premier certification/training program underscores increase of elite A/V at EHX
Framingham, MA - February 6, 2006 - Electronic House Expo (EHX) Spring 2006 announced today an agreement with THX Ltd. to offer its world renowned technician training at EHX. The "THX Certified Technician I" course will be held on Saturday, April 1 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida. In addition to graduating a new class of THX Certified Technicians, the THX training at this year's EHX Spring provides dealers who have already taken the courses a great opportunity to renew their THX certification.
The THX Certified Home Theater Technician I program provides dealers, installers and sales professionals with an overview of the THX principles for room design and product certification. Lasting a full day, the Tech I coursework is also a prerequisite for the Tech II level, which provides more intense training on room acoustics, treatments and product selection. By completing the Tech I training, certified technicians can take part in the "Certified Technicians Program." Among other things, this marketing program outlines special uses of the THX brand by Certified Technicians in their sales and marketing efforts. Technicians receive additional benefits by successfully completing the Tech II course.
In addition to the certification course, THX will also offer "THX in 2006: Technical Excellence from Creation to Presentation" on Friday, March 31, 2006 at 11:00 am - 12:00. This session will provide attendees with information on how to use THX in every home theater project (not just the big ticket sales) and keys on how to step clients up to higher priced, higher margin systems.
"Electronic House Expo is an ideal venue to host the THX Certified Training because it allows us to connect with a highly targeted audience of CE professionals," stated John Dahl, Senior Fellow at THX. "With expanded course content and improved certification requirements, THX Certified Technician Training provides the designer and installer community with a means to increase their knowledge of the THX principles for room design and product certification, as well as differentiate themselves from competitors."
"We are pleased to welcome THX as part of the line up of events at EHX Spring," stated John Galante, Vice President of EH Events & Education. "THX is recognized worldwide as a leader in certification of home theater products and design/installation companies and personnel. Their courses at EHX will provide our attendees with a great opportunity to increase their knowledge and skills and signify the growing importance of high performance audio and video systems in the event as a whole. On top of that, THX at EHX has a nice ring to it."
EHX will draw an estimated 10,000 attendees and 350 exhibiting companies over the five days of events, March 28 - April 1. In last year's EHX Spring attendee profile study, 80 percent of attendees indicated their companies were purchasing high performance A/V components for installation in their clients systems.
The "THX Certified Technician I" course is $500 and can be purchased at www.ehxweb.com or by calling 800.315.1581. Expo passes, which include admission to the "THX in 2006" session, are free before the early bird deadline of March 3, 2006. Conference package discounts are also available by this deadline.
